ONE RACE

What do you think of 1Malaysia? Please explain your answer in details. What is your vision of Malaysia in the next 5 years?

I think 1Malaysia is an excellent concept that comes at the right time.

1 Malaysia.

I'm proud to say I'm a
Malaysian.

It's comforting to see that our nation strives to see beyond ethnicity and instead focus on nation-based population.

But I think this concept is better off without political elements in it.
I really really hope this awesome concept isn't just a brainchild for winning more votes in any election.

This concept has yet to see itself rooted in the mind and soul of every Malaysian.
When it was first introduced, I was intrigued by it.
But as time passed, honestly, the spark of it dimmed and extinguished slowly.
What I'm trying to say is...
it takes more than words to implant this concept in every citizen.
We need to feel the actions that lead to this concept.
Allow us to feel that we are one.
Not only to let us hear that we could be one.

We all know, time and effort are required to invest in a flourishing relationship.
1 Malaysia concept is no difference.
Time.
Effort.
Both are needed to make this concept a success.

Let time test the solidity of this awesome concept...
and we'll see the level of liberation in thinking possess by our society.

My vision of Malaysia in next 5 years?
All citizens clings to 1Malaysia concept so that the society would lead a harmonious and happy lives, with will in turn strive in the nation's economy growth.

A vision too blissful to be true? Perhaps.....

What do you think about the various races in this country? Do you think about your race or country first? Why? Do you think there is a tension between the various races in this country or not?

Various races is a fact that I LOVE about Malaysia.
I'm glad I could make friends across ethnic boundaries.
I'm glad that I could enhance my tolerance with others.
I'm glad I could garner the experience of various festivals of different races.
It's a fulfilling and insightful experience, to say the least.

It never occurs to make friends because of race.
I appreaciate my friends.
I don't care where you come from...you can't help who you're born into....so why's the fuss?!

Race is nothing much that one should scrutinize upon while embarking on a journey with friend-ship.

I think of my country first.
Why not? I'm born here.
I am who I am because of here.
I have my identity, heritage, family, friends, past, present, practically everything HERE.
MALAYSIA.
It's a lovely country I'm glad I grew up in.
And I hope it stays that way till I'm six feet under.
And beyond.

Let's stop living in our dreamworld and face the facts.
Yes. There is a tension between various races in this country.

Come on, even in small family, siblings fight.
Malaysia --> a BIG country, and all the siblings are not from the same parents...
what do you get?
Occasional tongue fighting as well.
Nevertheless, it's very fortunate our 'siblings in nation' do not resort to fist fighting much.
We quarrel, no doubt. But we know the limits at least.

Tension is there because certain quarters like to provoke and bring forth unfavoured issues.
Please. We all know our history.
But do we need to be reminded of it every single day?
The column in the newspaper could be used to channel more insightful information you know...
Please refrain from hammering into our heads...the history that we've known by mind and by heart.
Please do not accuse Malaysians from being ungrateful and ignorant of the past.

If we just move on, embrace the globalisation wave with little reference to the past, I'm sure we can build a strong country where its citizens would prosper.

How do you think people from all over the world see Malaysia? Do you think there is a typical "Malaysian" stereotype? How would you want people to view "Malaysians" in the future?

I think they must have been awaiting the day that Malaysia fall apart.
Haha..forgive my pessimism, but I think they can't help with such notion too....
Many countries with different ethnics do not take it well like our country do.
A lot of countries are in fact in awe of how united Malaysians are.

Malaysia BOLEH!
Let's live happily ever after and leave them dissappointed

"Malaysian" stereotype?
Hmm...I don't quite get this term, but I guess you can stereotype someone "Malaysian" with all those mixed languaged. Believe me...youngster nowadays can speak three to four language in a sentence.

"I nak makan char kuey teow. You want follow?"

And perhaps...our Malaysian timing?

I love my country.
So of course I would like others to view people in my country as all the positive values a person could have.
I guess I don't need to recite all the 36 nilais we've memorised in our school days right?

:)

I don't have a shooting star to wish upon
For my lovely country Malaysia
I will work all my muscles and bones
For it to endlessly shine.

Forgive my lousy attempt at poetry. Haha....bet you didn't even notice it's a stanza.

Anywayz, cheers young generation! LET US BRING NEW WAVE TO THE COUNTRY!!!!

Name It

Yes. Brand is important.
Especially when it comes to things I prefer to consider once-in-a-lifetime investment
(this would usually be those pricey items....gizmos for instance.)

Brand = confidence + reliability

'Good things don't come cheap, cheap things don't come good'

I agree with this quote. Credits to whoever that gives birth to that piece of logic.

Now, which brands is best at communicating with youth...
Of course this goes to brands that aim youth as its customer pool.
Nike, Addidas, Apple, etc...
Their endless research and development gets my approval

My favourite brands: Nike Apple Samsung Digi
Why I like: Their creative designs and advertisement

DIGI

SAMSUNG (ANYCALL)

I'm not very brand-conscious, so I don't feel embarrassed of using certain brands.
But I know of a number of friends who dislike being associated with 'BATA'
I heard they even make up jokes that 'BATA' is an acronym of 'Buy And Throw Away'.

To laugh or not to laugh...
that is the question.

DOES RELIGION AFFECT MY CHOICE OF BRAND??!!
*stiffling a laugh* Heck, of course that's a big NO!
Religion and Brand is like two parallel lines that would never meet....

Finally,
where do I get all my info?
It's from a sourceful thing that starts with 'i'

I_TE_N_ _

Who could guess it?

Mari Mari...Pusing Wang Besar! Wang Besar!

LOVING IT!

3 favourite (seen read listened) items to share:
(i) 'Airplanes' by Eminem and Hayley Williams
(ii) The Economics Naturalist
(iii) Doraemon comic

2010 'MUST SEE'(i) Tekken movie
(ii) MPO performance
(iii) All Box Office movies

2010 'MUST DO'
(i) Pick up my music intruments
(ii) Get 80++ in all my subjects(iii) Get fit and under 48 kg

2010 'MUST HAVE'(i) More movie
(ii) Foreign food
(iii) Travel alone

Favourite outfit:Simple and comfortable.
I'm not much of a fashion icon.
But one thing for sure, to me: comfort is EVERYTHING!
What's more...it has favourite red colour!

Can't live without.....

An awesome Apple invention....
Music keeps me sane.

STARING AT THE BOX

I like Dr. House.

I watch it from CDs that I buy.
Yes, I am willing to fork out the money to indulge in House's rich sarcasm.

I like music.
Fashion, no.
(I can't seem to comprehend in fashion view, those weird costumes paraded by models on the runway)

Internet is the door for me to learn about new trends in music.

I'm into classical music when I'm trying to get into study mood.
I'm into Eminem and Breaking Benjamin when I'm down.
I'm into everything else (Lady Gaga, Jason Derulo, One Republic, Miss Nina, Uncle Kracker, The Veronicas, Daughtry, Timbaland, Lady Antebellum, John Mayer, etc) when I'm normal mode

Yes. I enjoy reading books.
Last three books?
1. Chemistry
2. Chemistry
3. Chemistry

I had an exam coming up. That would explain why. xP

Again, internet would be the one that would introduce me to the latest info on the entertainment I like.

LONG LIVE INTERNET!!!!

POKE ME TWEET ME IF YOU WANT TO REACH ME

SMS, Instant Messenger, Phone, Facebook...

We utilise all forms of communication medium to fertilise our friendship.
It's simple, fast, and no-fuss.
But of course the downfall is that we hardly have physical encounter.

We can no longer see the wrinkles ...
We can no longer see the pimples ...
We can no longer see the freckles...

Basically, we wouldn't even know if one had gone under the knife for a Jennifer Lopez's nose or anything!

I personally think that Facebook makes my life a little less better (I wouldn't use the word worse, because I think it's too strong)

My reasons:
(i) My friends now stalk my every little activity online
(ii) My birthday wishes is only on my profile page
(iii) My birthday presents are also virtual
(iv) I can't feel the poke when my friends poke me

I was once members of Facebook, Friendster, Twitter, Tagged, Myspace.
Basically I created account in each of those beacuse my friends have those as well.
No one was close friend.
My close friend are the ones I hang out in REAL LIFE
where we REALLY poke each other
where we REALLY wishes each other birthday
where we REALLY give presents that we can tear open and appreciate

I have roughly 300++ friends. Most of them are only those I rubbed shoulders with in the process of life.

I prefer to meet people face-to-face because the feelings and everything else is more genuine.

Nope. I don't tweek. I only speak.

THE VIRTUAL WORLD

I venture into the virtual world of endless boundaries -- in simple term, internet, -- for about two to three hours.

Nope, I'm no internet phobic. It's just that I'm tied to the responsibilities of a student.
Hence, I have study, revision and projects to attend to.

Usually, I would use the internet to hear some latest hits, watch some funny videos, read some news, check my email and of course, blog a little here and there.

I stick to alias that sometimes I jumble up. YOu see, I use different alias for the different websites I ventured into.
Sometimes, I'm Snow
Sometiems, I'm Faye
Sometimes, I'm Honey
Sometimes, I'm Lemon....

YOu get the idea....
Why I use it? Haha...somehow, I find comfort in being a stranger.

I've not become good friends with people I first met online..because there's never a second encounter.
I'm a bit cynical about people behind screens, whom you can't see....hence, explaning my distrust towards them.
It takes time for trust to build.

My parents do not monitor what I acccess online.
Partly I believe it's because they know how responsible I am.
Haha..i'm not trying to angkat bakul or anything, but I think they have strong faith in their upbringings.

My parents think internet is a quick way to fall into temptation because this realm contains too much interesting things, which, if you fall victim to, would result in your time being wasted away.

And I agree with them.

I don't think online world has made me become more disconnected with my friends because when we are at different continent, it plays a major role in closing the distances.
What's more? We can see how our friends lead their lives.
Pictures speaks it all.

:)

All The 'Chinging' I hear

Money is important..
but not as important as family and virtues.

If my family requires money, I don't mind to fork out for their use.
Don't tempt me with money, because I would not stoop that low.

Money is only a material in this 'dunia fana'.
You can't bring it to your grave.
But sin from money follows you six feet under.

My source of income?
I work part time in my school library that pays RM 5 per hour.
I would use that money for leisure stuff.
The pocket money provided by my parents, I would only use in educational stuff.

If I want to buy something, I do not get it straightaway.
I take note of it, then let a few days past.
Usually by then, I see that there is no need to buy that item at all.

I believe it is VERY CRUCIAL that my generation have strong work ethic and be hardworking in work.
Nothing comes free. This is a fact known to every rational person.
So please grant our soul the right to have a clear conscience.
say NEVER to CORRUPTION!!!!

The current economic climate shows that our country's economic is picking up and becoming robust.
I hope that this trend would continue because it is no doubt, a positive wave.

3 coolest job in the world:
Doctors: They can stay awake even with those round-the-clock routine
Lawyers: They can awesomely twist their words around to their favour
Astronauts: They can witness live, the world beyond Earth

3 least coolest job in the world:
I can't think of any right now. Haha...seems to me that every job has a certain degree of cool-ness.

If I thought about it, I'll fill it in ^-^

DREAM REALISED

Attending a full-time music concert.
And the best thing is, I'm was involved in organising it.

I'm glad I'm blessed with the opportunity to help making this event big.

A 'successful person' is one that can stand up and attain what he wanted when the whole world is against him.

Elements that make someone successful is basically effort and creativity.
With creativity, someone will think out of the box and comes out with something that would definitely sell.
With effort, this creative idea could be reality.

Future inspires me. I always remind myself how my future would be if I don't give in my best effort right now. And being haunted by the feeling of regret and guilty is an awful scarring experience I would not want to face.

Of course I have ambitions.

Next year:
(i) Achieve 80 ++ marks for all my A Levels subject
(ii) Get fit and under 48 kg
(iii) Improve on my personal development plan (yesh, I believe I'm not wholesome yet).

5 years:
(i) Working in a good firm
(ii) Save enough $$$ to bring my family to an overseas vacation they never had

My life:
Die with honourable deeds to mankind

Walk with Me, Rain or Shine

I'm blessed with a family of five. I'm the middle child.

Time spent with family usually revolve around food, holidays, and games.

Sorry I would love to post up pics on my family,
BUT I respect their decisions on being discreet in the virtual world.

Please accept my apologies on the lack of colourful material in my post and the boredom you have to bear.

My best friends are actually all my friends.
Why I like hanging with them?
They make me forget who I am and just bring out the pure fun side of me.

Again, my friends dislike seeing their pictures being posted online, so, sorry. Just let your imagination runs wild with who I hang around with.

Is identity important?
Nope. Not at all.
It's not important to be different because everyone IS different.
Hence, no prob on that.

And puh-leeze,
we've reached democratic maturity even at this young age...
we DO NOT scrutinize one's religious beliefs before marking them under 'friends' category.
In fact, I enjoy the diversity of religion in our friendship because it's a fun way of learning other's customs.

Basically, we categorize people of our age group by their interests.
It's not hard to see.
Go into a classroom,
you will notice that those who sit in front are usually academic-inclined.
Those who sleep during lectures then to be gaming-inclined (but they still ace their exams).
Those who wear sports wear to school are sports-inclined.

Most popular groups/looks? Just look at the EAST.
Korea, Japan, Taiwan!!!

Young and Bouncy Me!

Nope. I'm not the purple Barney most kids love (or hate).

I'm just Honey Lemon.

Don't strain your eye muscles on raising your eyebrows.
Haha...that's just me.
You can call me Honey if you like.
(but make sure your girlfriend ain't close if you want to give me a shout)

Okay. I'll stop with the jokes (you don't even realise i'm joking?! Man..off your serious mode now *poke*)...

and get down to serious business

What's the best thing about being youth today? Do you think the future is bright, for your generation or do you think the future is something to worry about?

Best thing about youth
is in your hands...

Time and opportunities both.
From books to bands,
Life is a hectic blend.

Future bright or dim
Does not depend on her or him
But WE are the ones that shape it.

Of course worry we can be
about things we can't see
For future is the fee
we pay with what we did

Don't wait
Or hate.
Do the right thing now;
Our future won't be down.

Do you think "youth" are rebellious in nature? Do you think youth today rebel like they used to before? Explain. Do you/have you rebelled against anything or anyone in the past? Explain.

Nope. My stand is on the environment 'youth' were raised in.
Take music for example
Parents say our rock music ain't music. It's just noise.
But in THEIR generations, do they not stick posters of their favourite artiste and sing along on top of their lungs, the rock songs of their generation?
As generations evolved, music gets revamped to higher heights. That's all I can say.

Do I rebel?
In fact, recently I did.
See, I'm currently living in an apartment.
My housemates plan to set certain 'quota rules' which would be applicable to air-cond and washing machine usage.
I refused to be part of the 'torture yourself to save some little $$$'.
Sorry. I think I would rather cut down on my shopping spree than getting myself hot and sweaty while studying.

Do you think youth today have an easier or harder life than our parents' generation? Please explain your answer.

I would say, we are both equal.
Take technology for instance.
Our parents lack internet in their generation. To study, they had to spend endless hours in the library.
Lucky us, internet is widespread in this generation. To study, we only have to click links here and there.
HOWEVER,
this is where we differ.
We are open to temptations easier. Parents, not, since they learnt the hard way that, if you want what you want, you put in effort.
I believe youth in this generation takes things for granted, compared to our parents.

Parents' generation lack technology, but they gain virtues that are vital to survive in competitive world.
On the other hand, we, the now generation has the technology, but do we gain the virtues needed to survive in this competitive world?

What is your biggest fear in the world..other than death?

Failure. Yes yes, I've often heard that failur is the mother of all successes. Belive me, I've heard lots of preaches on failure. But sadly, I'm still unable to banish that fear as easy as I sneeze.
Why I fear failure?

I hate letting people who put faith in me, down.
I hate the feeling of guilty.
I hate that time won't turn backwards for me to undo that failure.
I hate that the failure would scarred me. For life.

What makes you happy?

No prize for whoever who guessed it right. It's 'SUCCESS'!
Success is a reward I can blessed to everyone I know because they too contribute to it.
With success, I can see their face radiated with happiness.
Smile is contagious you know?
=)

What has been the most difficult hurdle you have overcome so far in your life? What did this experience teach you?

Getting my feet back after a long SPM holiday. What I learnt? Learning is a life-long process.
You NEVER stop.
and please, only fools would try to delete all he had learnt, due to the notion that it would relieve himself of stress.

Which has more importance today in your life - family or friends? Why? In your experience did you ever have to make a choice between your friends and family? If 'yes' please explain your answer and why you did so?

F-A-M-I-L-Y.
My mama and papa and sister and brother.
Yes. It was a painful choice.
(it's my housemate thing again. they were unease at my relative's presence)

Parents would do anything for their children.
They were with you from the day you were born
They guide you through each step of life when you're still new to the world
They give you shelther and food
They never ask for retribution
They stand at the side during your birthday party
Not daring to approach or seat near you
To give you room to mingle with your peers.
Seeing you smile and laugh with your friends
Make them smile in their hearts too.
When you chose to ignore them
They don't keep grudges.

Nothing can replace family.

Tell us more about yourself!

I'm crying now because of the previous question.

*sniff* too many touching memories fleet by....

GOsh. I'm sorry to be so emotional right now.
Guess this'll be the end of my post.

Thank you for bearing till the end, this long ridiculous post.
