1Malaysia

I think 1Malaysia gave people many opportunity to learn and share each others cultures as they're unique. I like it because it gives a bond with each other. I also love the fact that Malaysia have lots of different cultures and I can learn about them without worrying anyone will be mad. I'm happy I get to live here. My vision for Malaysia in the next 5 years is that Malaysia will be known as a peace-loving country that has many races, religions and cultures.

I think the various races in this country makes this country very unique. As a Malay, I do think of my race but I usually think of what I can do to this country so that everyone is treated equally. I do think there is some tension between various races in this country and I do think its kind of sad. We should live in peace as this is our country. We wouldn't want anyone to invade it right? We should learn more of each other and learn to respect others.

I think people from all of the world respect Malaysia as we can live harmony even with various races. I would want people to view Malaysia as a harmony country with various races and religion and is ahead of other country economically, and have high technology. :)

PS : It's the end of my post. Thank you for reading and thank you YouthSays for inviting :). Let's all pray for Malaysians abroad and for Palestins. Hope they're safe. Amin.

Brands

Its a lie if I said that brand is not important to me. And its a lie if I told you that its the most important thing in my life. For me, I do care what I bought by quality but sometimes I just want to pamper myself by buying those branded stuff (using my parents money :P ) as I can boast to some people. Whoops! I know its wrong but hey, its the truth. :)

I think the brand communicating youth these days are Tropicana Life. For me, they rocks! haha. :D I lovee the cool design. To get my approval the stuff needs to be cute (in my way).

Favourite brands :
  • Roxy : Love the bags
  • Tropicana Life (TL) : Cool sweater, like the design
  • Converse : CUTE shoes!
I think those two up there play a role in my life but really, i buy more TL than other brands as they're cheaper :)) I never got embarassed using any products except maybe the non original ones. Oh and if there is a picture of a naked woman on my clothes, I WILL NOT wear them. I kinda dislike them. Oh, yess, religion does affect my choice of brands. Well, I can't wear other religion's clothing. Other than that, I'm okay.

Like I said before in my post, I watch less TV and doesn't read magazine that much. If I want to know about the products that I like, my friends will tell me (before I even asked them). :) and, I always join e-newsletter. Easier :)

Favourites

Three top things that I would recommend to others :
  1. Book : A Walk To Remember by Nicholas Sparks. It's awesome. I love the author
  2. Movie : Avatar. Seriously. IT'S AWESOME!
  3. Song : Hero by Mariah Carey. It lifts me up whenever I'm down.
2010 ;
must see : Movie Eclipse and The Last Song. I can't wait for it to come out.

must do : Getting 10A+ for SPM. I'll make my family proud. :))

must have : Polaroid! Haha. I want to capture instant pictures with my friends.

This is the outfit I'm wearing.

Reasons : It's simple and nice :) I don't colour coordinate. I just wear anything I feel like wearing.

Top things in my life (I simply can't live without them) :

Nikon D60 - most fav of all.
My camera is THE most important thing as I like to capture photographs. I carry it around all the time.

Teddy Bear
My teddies! haha. I need them. When I cry I hug them. When I'm happy I kiss them. And when I'm mad at somebody they're my punching bag. haha.

Well, they are all special as each of them is given by somebody someone :)

Other than all of this, my favourites are books. I read them a lot.

Entertainment

My most favorite TV show is Oprah! I just love the talk shows. It's some sort off education in a way. :) I watched it on Hallmark channel. Thank goodness for Astro. :D I do lovee music and fashion. But I don't follow  fashion that much. I just make up my own. For music, I just listen to the radio or ask my friends for new songs. Hee.

I do download musics but I don't have any bands or singers that I'm into. I love their song but I don't worship them or something. It's just not my thing.

Books? I LOVE LOVE LOVE them! Haha. I read them everyday. The last three books are about psychology, and photography. I don't remember the title.

The information about entertainment I always get from my friends. They're like my TV. Haha. I don't watch TV much so I just ask them or they tell me :)

Social Networking

Some of my friends prefer SMS-ing me, some of them prefer to just message me using facebook or myspace. The positives of SMS-ing is that I'll read it right away, it's best for any emergencies. The negatives is that maybe I can't reply due to lack of credit :( . While messaging me online, the positives is that, hmm, I don't have the slightest idea but the negatives is that I possibly won't read the message in time 'cause maybe I can't online at that instant or whatever reasons.

Social networking site doesn't make my life worse. Well, its totally depend on how you see it, if not talking with voices a bad thing then it's a bad thing for you. It's somewhat a good thing = I know what my friends are doing by reading their blog. It's not the same as talking yes, but its okay for me :)

My online social networking sites :
  • Facebook : 345++ friends - mostly my schoolmates, my friends, old friends, teachers and family :)
  • Myspace :  410++ friends - most of it is stranger to me. haha. I approve them but they don't talk so I just keep quiet. lol. my close friends are around 30.
  • Twitter :  10++ followers. I think there's only 5 of it is my friends.
  • Formspring : I'm following 3 person only but there's lots of friends in there (I think. I'm not sure :P)
From the above : there's lots of them that I never met before.

I prefer to meet people face-to-face. It's because I know what they really look like and how they dressed and how they talk. No, I don't care about how they dress but I like to observee. :D
I do have twitter and I think I have around 10++ followers. I follow them because either they're interesting or they're my friends or I want to be friends with them :)

Favourite Pastime : Going Online

I didn't count how many hours I online per day but I think it's around 3 hours (usually more). :) Firstly, I will open my facebook account and myspace. I'll upload new pictures of school events and pictures of mine if I have one. Then open up my email, twitter, formspring, blogger and youth says (It's a must!).Sometimes I edit my pictures online and watch YouTube now and then.

Yeap, I do use a nickname everynow and then. My friend knew me by that name so its cool ;) . But when I do use my name, its because of hmm, I have no idea why I did that, I guess its just for fun. :PP

Good friends on the online world? Not much but I've got a few. Well, I trust only people who upload their own picture and their friends'. I'm not sure why, I just do. :P How I make friends with them is easy, when people add, I just talk talk talk and talk. haha. Also commented on their lovely pictures.

My parents does monitor me online. Every time I went surfing the net they'll ask "What are you doing?" , "With who are you chatting with?" , "Don't tell them where you live." and much much more. :) I think it's effective because I will be less online-ing and more to reading my school books and study. My parents dislikes when I'm always on the computer and they're mad, so I'm now online-ing lesser :(

The more I surf the net, the more I think I'm getting more disconnected with my peeps. Why? Well, firstly, I enjoy games when I'm online-ing and therefore I didn't care when they text me or message me. Sorry. Plus, I got lesser time to talk to them - through the phone.

Work and Money

I love but dislike money. It makes me greed. It makes some people greed and money is the root of all evil. People would do anything for money. I know that money is important, and we need them to survive. But for me, its enough if I don't have to much of it 'cause I'll spend like I never before - my evil side. :P

My money came from my parents as they don't let me to work. They say "your job is to learn". :) Owhh, I love them. But sometimes I got extra if I do extra chores. Simple.

Do I get what I want? It's like this : if I want food or something in emergency, yes I will get it immediately. :) But if I want something that is not so important or can wait like an Ipod or a new handphone, they will say "You get all A's then I buy you one". It sometimes get on my nerve. haha. The second choice is I need to save up ( but it will take a very long time and I'm not that patient. :( ).

Ambition and Success

Every human being in this planet want to be successful. Who doesn't? For me, successful = happy + grateful + dreams achieved. :) We can't make everyone happy but at least we can make someone happy. My achievement in life is that I gain back my family's trust. Yes, it is an achievement that I'm proud of. Another thing is, I learned how to edit a picture nicely. Yay me! haha :D

Succesful person is a happy person. Well, that's my point of view (don't copy me! haha) :P Someone succesful is someone who has achieved what he/she loves and are very proud of it - just make sure it's not a crime or anything.

The most who inspired me is Oprah. haha. Yes, she's a successful woman and still is humble towards people. I lovee her talk show.

When I was a child, my ambition has always been to help people therefore I wanted to be a doctor so badly. My parents agreed on that. But then, as I grew up well, I guess I'm more open to this world and now I'm not sure what I want to be. But still my ambition to help people has been always there and never fades.

Three goals to achieve next year :
  • Having straight A's for SPM :)
  • Get a scholarship and study abroad.
  • Finish reading Psychology for Dummies (and understand it)
Three goals to achieve next five years:
  • Obtain Bachelor of Medicine (or psychology or something like that :P )
  • Went Umrah (or Haji :D )
  • Became a professional book writer :)

Family and friends.

family <33
I'm the first born of my parents. But I'm considered the second child as they adopted my big sister - she's my cousin actually. They adopted her from my aunt from my dad's side. Now aged 18 y/o. I have a younger brother and sister age 7 and 9. Weekdays, we spent less time with each other as our schedule are fully packed. Me with activities in school, dad with his work, and  mum with my younger siblings. We spent time together when weekends appear. :) we went for a jog morning or in the evening, we watch tv together. Sometimes, we also watch movies. I lovee movies :D.

Best friends? I have a lot of best friends. I can't choose as some people might get hurt. It's enough to say that I care about all of them :) . We love to spend our holidays with chit chat, hanging out, went shopping plus gossiping ;)) . We enjoy taking crazy photos too. They're crazy about pictures. :P Some enjoy dancing like I do.

close friends <33

When meeting new people, I will first observe them. haha. Well, I'm kinda friendly when meeting new people but I won't talk if I'm not in the right mood. I'm clumsy and I think new people will think I'm weird.

Traditional Dance: Sumazau <3

classmates <3

Identity isn't important. I don't care what a person's wearing if they wanna be my friend. As long as they respect me, my family, and my friends and has a fine attitude then its cool. Anyone can be my friend. Standing out isn't important for me - but some of my friends care about it. Well , its their opinion. I respect that.

I don't choose friends from their religion. I have friends from all sorts of religion. The only thing I do care is respect. :) they respect me and I'll respect them - it really is that simple.

Youth Today.

The best thing about being a youth today is that we can connect more to each other as the technology now are more advanced than before and we are living in a modern era. Personally, I think there are some things that worries me about the future :
  1. Crime is raising - more and more youth are doing crime
  2. Morale of youth is decreasing
  3. Youth are into drugs
  4. Global warming
As a teen, I do care about my surroundings as I'm not the only one who's gonna live on this earth. Next generation will come and I pity them if they have to live the world with no trees (It can happen if we're being greedy and doesn't care about mother nature). Other than that, there are still light for youth if we work together as a team and save each other from falling down into a black hole.

I don't think youth are rebellious in nature. They are just confuse about themselves (I do). Plus, their hormone is changing so, they tend to be "mad" at something but I think they're just confuse and frustrated with the world. Youth today doesn't rebel like folks in the past. Today, youth tend to run away from home when they have problems or simply take the easy way : Attempt suicide. For me, I do rebel at times. When I'm mad at my dad for scolding me for something I didn't do. I tend to walk alone - like a lone ranger :P - on the streets of KL for an hour or so (usually it doesn't last long) and doesn't pick up the phone when my mum or dad calls and that makes my mum worry. Sorry mum. I like to make my anger go away by walking fast where nobody recognize me so that I can walk peacefully and went home as I cleared my head. And no, I don't yell back. :)

Youth now are having harder life than our parents' generation. Well, firstly it's because the crime rate is high and i think at the mind of every parent, their worries are more when it comes to letting us go outside. Anything can happen in a blink of an eye. Secondly, the world is now more demanding (or the parents are). We need to study more as the competition among us are tougher. Moreover, there are bad influence everywhere and if youth are not mentally prepared, they can go the wrong way.

My biggest fear in life? Let see, hmm. Making decisions. Yes, I'm afraid. But I have to go with it 'cause in life you have to make choices and decisions. It worries me. Questions like "What if I make the wrong decisions", "What if I make other people's life miserable when I make this decisions" always pops out.

What makes me happy is that seeing a smile in anyone's face - the sincere-happy-content smile. It's true. I'm not sure why but it just feels as if the world is a better place when people smile :)

friends ♥
The biggest hurdle of my life is when I did something that makes my whole family (even my aunts and uncle) dissapoint in me and they don't trust you anymore (I can't tell you what it is sorry). Those few months were pain and I'm not sure if I ever survived. It's like the whole world is watching me like I'm a criminal. I regret soon after but the relationship with me and my family are broken somehow. In the end, I learned that you have to think deep before you do something stupid. :P

Family or friends? I choose both. I never had to choose before and I really can't choose. Family is family - we stick together in hard times. While friends, they're the one who make me happy and make my life more dramatic. haha : D Both are important. It's fun being around people who cares and loves just the way you are.

Okay, my introduction :))

My name is Nur Afiqah, age 17 y/o and will be sitting for SPM this coming November. I love music but I don't know how to play any instrument. I do love dancing, I dance traditional Malay dance occasionally. Close friends (and close teachers and my superb close family) calls me pe'ah. haha. yes, it's a kg. name but i like, no wait. ♥ it :) It was created by my beloved best friend, Sakinah. Okay, I like blogging of course (have created a few blogs and delete then create again some more) :P . Other than that I love people, culture, psychology (most favourite), shop, and photography :)) . Oh yea, I love to read! I can't stand a day without reading - i love literature too. Well, I should stop now , happy reading :D
