Embracing 'one 4 all, all 4 one'.

1Malaysia.

I am not going to lie.

When I first heard about it, I was dumbstruck. I mean, I never ever thought that anyone was ever going to do something like. EVER. It was like surprising, awesome, wrong, and pretty much unacceptable in a same time. That was what, like 2 years ago? I bet it was on the very first day it was announced. (Cekidout! Here for more info)

But time passes by. Now, I don’t really know what I feel about the 1Malaysia anymore. One thing for sure, I don’t like it. Not to the point that I hate it, though. I just, well, don’t like it, that’s all.

I think you can still count that as ‘dislike’. I don’t really what this 1Malaysia thing had to do with anything. It is so much of a fuss. It’s on the TV all day long. They even made a contemporary song with it, so that it will not sound like the other patriotic song. It has its own website, own SMS thingy-majingy. It has everything!

I guess the biggest flaw of 1Malaysia is the name itself. It is flawed in many ways. For example, how many Malaysia does you really think there are outside there? Is there really another Malaysia out there? Numbers and words can’t be in one word, it is against the law of language.

Just to clear things up, I hereby declare that I do not hate the idea of 1Malaysia. I just dislike it. Dislike being me not liking the ring the name brings. I don’t know, I really don’t like that name. I mean, most of my friends from the Internet also dislike the name. They think that it sucks and really should rename it. Some even said that Malaysia was enough. Well….

But all in all, we had to face it. It is a good thing to bring up new ideas into this country. And if it can really bring us, multicultural and all, even closer, then why not?
Years to come, I could clearly foresee Malaysia as a more diverse and enhancing country, seeing now that we are climbing up the ladders of the international economics and all.

I think 1Malaysia is a good idea in bringing the various races of Malaysian together, despite me disliking the name. Years after the black tragedy , Malaysians had really become more closer and had bonded even better than before. It really does proves that even being a multiracial country, we Malaysians can really do hold up to our name and proves to the world that riot are meant to end.

Being a multiracial citizen of Malaysia, I am always aware if the word ‘Melayu’ is being used. It is such a dangerous and sensitive word that people are being very careful in making decisions to use it. I mean there are a lot of things – political things, really, that happened in the past that was clearly being related to the word ‘Melayu’. And I am not going to create another one here.

I guess I am this way because of these political issues that actually, because honestly speaking, I don’t really care if you are a Chinese, Indian or whatever. Heck, I don’t even care if you are going to talk about Malay or rights or whatever. But since then, it actually affects me more. I mean if we could just say what we want to say without being too careful or people being too touchy and stuff, I’m sure I can be a lot better than this. I hate this.

When we are some places that are obviously new to us, the single tiniest bit of similarity can actually bring any stranger into becoming a family. And when that really does happen, you will realize that races no longer play any role. It is just plain nationality that had brought us together, which is why I really don’t like the name 1Malaysia. Hahaha… Imagine this, you walk into a building where you and some other guys from Malaysia is going to meet up, then you saw this banner, on it, written this: Perjumpaan Remaja 1Malaysia! What the heck? Is it a typo? Hahaha

That would certainly be a bad image for Malaysia.

From what I heard, read, and listened, or to put it simple, from what I know, Malaysia nowadays is being viewed as one of the country with the most promising economy status. But still, even with the promising economics and the 1Malaysia idea being held up, I guess we can’t entirely change what they, the foreigners, really do see in us.

I mean, look at us! With all the rempit thing going, although it is now simmering and all, with the everyday news report on the raid on the brothel and stuffs, which literally means that there are way too much bad stuffs that shows  how bad is Malaysia. This is a very bad thing to be watched in the daily news.

Those, plus the typical ‘Malaysian’ features.
  •  Nasi lemak in the morning.
  • Mamak for lunch.
  • Yong tau fu for dinner/supper

Surfing on the line.

The internet, nowadays, is a very powerful tool. It is no longer considered as a luxury. It is a pretty much a necessity.

I, personally, would take Internet as a BFF. Life without it is like a life of a zombie. Ugh. I hate it.

Internet is such a big thing, that one of the writers for USNews.com, Rick Newman, had recently classified it as one of the things we can’t live without. The rest of the list goes something like smart phones, pets, music downloads, and sadly, booze. (You can cekidout! here)

I love my Internet. If I am to be without my Internet, then you better get me going somewhere. I think, the most boring thing that can actually happen to you is being in your home, without Internet, be it your PC busted, or your Internet busted.

In a long term, I think Internet will be so vital that we can actually use it to cure claustrophobia. I know it works on me. Not that I really have claustrophobia.

I mean, I had personally learnt many stuff from the Internet. Stuffs from diseases, to the PPP language, up to the essential things for blogger like simple HTML text editing and also simple background tweaks and stuff. I even earned many useful tools from the Internet. Useful and free, the best! Including photo editing tools, download manager (songs… OMG) and many other great stuff!

In average, I am online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. And that makes it 356 days a year. But sadly, it is only figures. Not a true truth.  Okay, the truth is, I will be going online as many times as possible. Most of the times when I am not online, I am most probably at school (habis dah!), in the driving school (dah habis jugak), at the mall (SHOPPING!!!), or going for a movie or something. Or most probably I am on the car and there is no Internet in the car.

But most of the time, I would only be staying online for 18 hours a day, at most. I mean sometime a REALLY LONG DAY IN THE INTERNET is really boring and dull. And if I really don’t know what else to do, I’d rather update my blog.

The Internet is so vast, that I think I can easily waste my entire life time trying to go to ALL the web pages through the Internet. IF I wanted to, though. Usually, when I am online, there is sort of a regiment that I follow, a general rule. Check mail for any news - which is clearly important, and then I’ll open Facebook. And what happens next most probably depends on my mood. I guess mood swing really does play a LARGE role in me.

Most of the time, I’d be stuck in YouTube, watching funny, hilarious, awesome, and some stupid and/or educational videos, made by normal people. It is the best. My BFF (real BFF, not the Internet), who is also an Internet junkie, on the other hand can use all the time he has to play a MMORPG game (word supplied by him, I really don’t know what it means.) I guess we all are online for several reasons.

Being online is something very important, yet at the same it is pretty much a dangerous place to linger. I mean, if you had really took your face off the screen and read the newspaper, you would noticed some news about a group of young (and also the not-so-20’s) women being tricked by their “Internet lovers”  into investing money into their “successful business” of nothingness.

Which plain stupid.

I mean, you hardly know that guy, just be some text that we had typed in that occasional chatting session, and yet you are all willing to give a HUGE sum of money just for that guy. Who you DON’T know that really well. What are you? Robin Hood or something? Sheesh, get a life!

Which is why I always kept my identity a secret. Stay anonymous.  To prevent bad things from happening to you. Well, except for Facebook of course, because you can clearly change the setting to keep personal information, well, personal. You even get to choose who can see what, which is great. We all love power, now don’t we?  And you better use that power to a good use!

The Internet, for pass years, had connected people and made them befriended, which is clearly a good thing. I mean if you really do watch TV, Rachel Ray especially did a cover on this Internet relationship thingy, which is really great. She even cooked for their official date INSIDE her stage. She’s so amazing, I love her.

Tapi sedih… I personally never had made any real friends from my list and list and list of Internet friends. The closest I get was e-mailing them, from time to time. We can’t even meet! Thanks to the FAR FAR AWAY state of our country, meeting each other is like suicidal, at least.

I mean, even yang stay in Kuala Lumpur area pun I can’t meet them. It is very wrong to meet them. What if I’m not what they pictured me as? What if they aren’t as chatty as they are online? I mean, kalau setakat nak taip-taip tu, alah!, kalau tahu apa nak taip sudehhh, but meeting up real life and talk? What the HECK!

But clearly having friends online is already more than enough for me. At least when I am online, there are people to talk to. (Sedih nya bunyi…) Even my friends back from high school (ceh ceh ceh high school sekolah menengah sudah) sekarang pun dah susah nak jumpa. Now it’s either we call and/or text, or through Facebook, which is clearly very effective.

Being 18 and stuff, my parents RARELY do any check-up or anything about me being online. I think they really do trust me and believe that I won’t do anything that is bad or evil or violent or anything really. Like what my Dad used to say ‘Ala, dah besar dah! Pandai-pandai lah tu dia jaga diri.’ (^_^)

Thanks Dad.

But that really don’t mean that I went up and go to the ‘bad’ and ‘dirty’ sites and have some ‘fun’ there. No, it would such a waste of time and also would only end up being bad. You can never know when one of those site is full of phishers, and viruses, and hackers and all. So guys don’t go there, no matter how ‘relieved’ you will feel and ‘best’ the sites are. It is a waste of time! And not to mention berdosa tau!

As a conclusion, going online is one of the things that are a MUST. I think we should put it somewhere in the rules that ‘the accessibility to the virtual world (Internet) must not be prohibited or limited. The failure of doing so will lead the person responsible to jail and do a life sentence while everybody else live in harmony and have fun with the Internet!’.  Don’t you think we will all be happy if life is like that?

But seriously, I mean if the access to the Internet is limited, I cannot wonder how bad life will be. It would be disastrous. Life is doomed and all. Unless, if you are old and don’t really care about technology. (No offence ol’ folks!). Internet rocks, impostors sucks!

networking socially ~

The most used medium me and my friend use to communicate are the SMS , IM and FB .
For youngster of my age, this is the most money-wise choice  ~ fast and cheap. The negative side of it ;

  • u`r left out if u dont use any
  • its ADDICTIVE
  • too much of it will waste ur time

Using these social networking medium sure does bring me closer to my friends. Hey, i even met my kindergarten friends on FB , it`s worthed. It do makes my life better. My friends network got bigger than i ever thought im having.

...

Minem list of social networking. ~
*malas nk type panjang2... hehe

....

Do you prefer to meet people for the first time online or face-to-face? Why?
Do you have Twitter? If yes, how many followers do you currently have? Who do you follow?

NO , gile ke???
Yes, dont care...tak pernah kira.sape2 je.

$_$ ~ yeah... i love u $$$

Well, who doesnt ??? Money makes the world go round. It`s the heart of living. No, dont say LOVE is... try taking ur love into a bank and try to bank it in...  Even the pak guard will laugh at you.. Yes, of course love is IMPORTANT. But not as important as u need money to buy ur loved one a warm home somewhere in the suburbs ~ haha. Yeah, I WIN !
...

I finished my school last year, after that, in January, i was selected to join the NS @ PLKN. So, i went there, from January to March. For sure im not working, yet, i got RM450 allowance from the government. After NS, i stayed at home doing nothing. I tried to look for a part time job, but no luck. So, i stay home laa ~
I got allowance from my dad. Doing nothing at home, getting allowance, i saved it all up. Though i did spent some while hanging out with friends.. *Typical me ~ boros...

...

Usually when i want something, i save up. Yet, i still tell my dad i want it. Just in case luck was on my side ~
I save up often, but in the end my dad will sympathize on my so-called 'effort' and eventually he`ll buy it for me.. haha. And my 'saved up' money will eventually goes into my shopping allowance ~ yeah... i know.. im a spoiled brat!

Dai Ichhi

You know what i love about the Japaneses. No, not its kawaii people. Not even their street style fashion. No, not that too. Its their work ethics. I wrote about this once in my personal blog... But not actually on work ethics topic, i was arguing bout the language.. here, cekidout.

Well, back to my topic. Here `s a piece of my mind.
Work commitment or attachment to work. When u are really committed to doing certain work, there will always be efforts and willingness to strive. And also, PRECISION.

I once read somewhere which said ;

"Malaysians must give up their “lebih kurang” attitude and adopt “precision” to be a competitive nation."

I really ~ greatly ~ strongly think that the youth generation should adapt some of the Japanese work ethics. Especially to those who got the chance to study or work in Japan. In Japan, even the train is as precise as the sun to rise every morning. Kalau la kat Kl Central pon boley tepat macam tu, takpayah la aku lari2 kejar train nak sampai, i could always count on the jadual instead ~ haha
There is a sense of urgency in whatever they do. Despite the fact that commuter trains leave their stations every minute, you see Japanese commuters half running in order to catch the earlier train. Fuyoo ~!

Defining Success

Defining Success ~ its as hard as grabbing for one. I have small successes along my way. Not much to brag about. So i rather not talk...

In my eyes, i see A SUCCESSFUL PERSON is the kind of person who

  1. have great mental and physical abilities and control over it.
  2. academically excellent
  3. have good manners and culture wise
  4. religiously wise
  5. HAVE MONEYYY $$$$ ~ hehe mind the big words..

Hey, did u notice something.... If this type of person exist now days, he or she is the most PERFECT person on earth. Wow ~ i`ll marry him if he`s a he....

No, i dont believe in 'successful person'. Everyone go through failure even in his success. U cant never be too successful but u can be too rich. When u r rich, every one thinks u r a success right?? NO, YOU ARE NOT! Being rich, being respected doesn't mean u r successful.

Being successful is u had go through SO MANY HURDLES along your way, and able to live hundreds days after that. Yeah, thats a success. You have a STRONG heart. Thats a success. You HAVE the will power to live. Yeah, thats a success.

I usually get inspired by quotes. Yeah i love quotes. When im sad, i search for quotes, when i had a fight with my boyfriend, i`ll find a quote. When, i had another failure, i read my quotes collection. It gives me strength to believe in something. Here i`m sharing with you some of my favourite....

" Truth is, everybody is going to hurt you; you just gotta find the ones worth suffering for." -Bob Marley

This i found when i was in a fight with my boy ~ its a good remedy...

and this one, from the movie Animal Cracker,

"One morning I shot an elephant in my pajamas.
How he got in my pajamas, I don't know."

hehe

ok, im way far from our topic..back to the topic,
I like this kind of quotes, especially a failure quotes.. it do helps to get me back on my feet... here`s some...

Failure is an event, never a person.
  ~William D.

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody
 ~Bill Cosby

Try again.  Fail again.  Fail better
 ~Samuel Beckett

This is my ambition !

Family Vs Friends

Okay, this is one boring topic to talk about.·
...

Tell us about your family structure and members. Tell us stories about your time spent with family.

I came from a big family. Okay, that was a LIE. My family is small, by the mean of tak ramai orang, not petite small. Even though we all are big-boned. Yeah, whatever.

Well, firstly... I only have one grandma left. My dad [papa], my mom [mama], my big brother [abg], my sister [esah], and then there’s ME , and the last one, my other bother , I mean, brother [Nas].

My father was in the ATM. KOR Armor to be exact. Yet, I dont even know what the hell it means, and dont even bother to know. After his retirement in the army, he chose to work in private sector, which actually, have sangkut-paut jugak laa dengan army thing.  Something about selling or buying planes, helicopter, tanks from Russia and India. I dont really get it what he does actually. All I know is it is not illegal. And thats fine for me.

Next, is my mother. The smallest living human in our home. Yes, I mean it. She`s about 5 foot only. My dad and the others is above 5 foot tall. It’s genetic. Deal with it.  She`s a government worker working in Ministry of Defense and currently placed in Pahang working in a PLKN camp. [The one I goes ~ haha]
Not much to say about my mother. She`s a very good cook, VERY GOOD. She sews too. She does all the mak-mak stuff laa ~ adoyai, ape lagi..... Ooh and yeah, this few weeks, she`s been enjoying aerobic classes at the gym with her friend, m`Cik Nora. She`s really into it, REALLY ~ REALLY. hehehe

Next, my brother. He`s 29 this year. Married. No children, yet. A veterinarian. His wife a vet too. Love anime, love robots, love KRU...[That’s what we laugh most about him], love animal... blablabla..

The second child. The rebel. My sister. 24 this year. Married. No children. Work in IBM, as...  I dont know what she`s doing there. One thing that for sure, she`s married, not living with her husband, love black clothing [she owns Hex of Black Clothing] and passions for Bubble Tea. [Google if u doesn’t know]

The next one, the 3rd is me. The AWESOME me. Im 18. In a relationship. Just finish school. Love archery, love animal, love surfing internet, own a blog, enjoy blogging, read English novels, hoping to own a car. PATHETIC.

And the last one, the youngest, has the biggest head among us 4. My 16 year old brother. He is studying in some MRSM near Ipoh. In his pastime, he goes skiing with his friends in Sunway. Yet, didnt even bother to ask me along ~ hampeh punyer budak.

...

We dont really spent times together. Everyone is too busy doing their own things. Daddy and mommy with their works, abg with his vet stuff, Esah with her things, Nas with his hostel... And me, im all alone... sitting home alone, with the tv blaring, with the laptop going...as usual.

Our typical weekend together would be like this. Dad is gone first thing in the morning for his golf training, mom will be in the kitchen doing the chores [ I think so] and the others are still drifting in our dreams...

Vacation? The last we had was in 2007. We went to Langkawi. But abg wasnt with us; it was just my parents, my sister, my lil bro and me. We stayed in an apartment. And yes, we had a great time shopping around Langkawi, going to the cabel car, and went to that eco-park thing I cudnt remember what the name is.
...

·         Tell us who are your best friends and why do you like to hang out with them and the activities you all frequently do together

Pictures says thousand of word right? Okay, here i goes ~

KENGKAWAN, I MISS U ALL, I LOVE U ALL ~ MAY GOD BLESS YOU!

Does religion affect your choice of friends?
