~favoritism~

Great. i looked at my desktop calender,

29 may 2010.

i let off a sigh of relief,

"at least i still have 3 days, and i have 3 posts to do"

so i started to tap on my keyboards,
slow and study, feeling contented and relieved.
just then, OMG... THATS JORDAN TIME. WE ARE 6 HOURS LATE THEN MALAYSIA!
damn. now suddenly my fingers were like typing faster than a speeding bullet. haha
so yeah i have 3 more posts to go and i have 2 days left.. wat the tooot.. am i gonna make it in time? well, its worth trying. hahahaha

so........
~MY FAVORITES~

honestly, i did not really see anything new recently, but since they asked about something i love, i guess "recently" could just be neglected. haha

well well, 3 things i READ, SEEN or LISTENED TO that i love are:

#1 lemony snicket's series of unfortunate events series.

well yeah i totally love the series. the books are all full of mysteries and suspense, they did try to make a movie out of the book, but i guess reading is much more interesting for it allows you to imagine bout the characters and the storyline with your own desire. what is it about? well check the summary by clicking on this link.

#2 To shoot an elephant.

well like the previous posts , told you that im very active and i put the gaza issue as one of my biggest concern. well, to me this site has certainly helped me alot in understanding the life styles of the gaza people. sometimes what you see in the news differs than the situation itself so i highly recomended my friends to look this website up.. actually,

"To shoot an elephant" is an eye witness account from The Gaza Strip. December 27th, 2008, Operation Cast Lead. Urgent, insomniac, dirty, shuddering images from the only foreigners who decided and managed to stay embedded inside Gaza strip ambulances, with Palestinian civilian."

so to me this site is really cool. you guys should give it a try by clickin here...

#3 COLLEGE HUMOURS

(hahahaha im laughing my heads off dude haha)

man i really think that this site is totally awesome when i dont have anything to do or even if im in a gloomy mode, this site totally makes my day. they have this team doing videos, comic strips and stuff, potraying life's reality , movie parodies and even game parodies.. they are really funny and just the awesome-est (mind my grammer) comedy team ever. check them out here http://www.collegehumor.com/

_________________________________________________________________

Right so these are my "must do", "must have" and "must see" list. haha

#1 i want to maintain my body weight. ever since winter i started gaining.. jeez.
#2 i would score for my exams.. and trust me it aint easy to be fullfilled.
#3 i would go for my umrah. bought the tickets. yeeha..
#4 i want a nice long beard to make me more "arabic" .. haha ive started letting them grow.

well thats basically what i could think of right now. i dont really have the massive plan for this year. to me its been quite a tough and striving year. lets just hope it turns out well. and yes i know my to do list is BORING!

____________________________________________________________

Woah!!! outfists great. well i have a very weird taste thats what my friends say. but i guess im unique haha. well honestly the 4 seasons here influences my way of dressing up, but i guess the winter wear is the best outfit off all, its cool, and its trendy, the snow that falls just gives it a perfect touchup..:)

WINTER here is really cold (it is called winter haha) at times it drops to negative digits and the snow falls.. soo we had to really find good clothes not just for fashion but also to protect your body from extreme chill

usually i go with:

ZARAA PEACOAT

CHECKERED WOOLEN SWEATER

SCARVES

and

MY COLLECTION OF TIMBERLAND SHOES

but if we go out to play the snow, we choose to be rather simple and sporty..:)

like this :

_______________________________________________________

My top gadgets would be:

#1 My MacBook Pro

this lappy seems to be my saviour in almost everything, i blog with this, i go online with this, i play games with it, i chat, i video call, i do assignment, i do EVERYTHING with it. so yeah. enough said. im sure you all understand how important is a laptop nowadays. hahaha

#2 My N-96

I know its not that latest but, i enjoy it, i used it for almost a year now, it helps me connect, it helps me take emergency pictures , it also helps me during the boring lectures. so yeah! thank you N-96....

#3 My PSP

A psp is almost like having your televisyen set equipped with a play station. my psp helps me to ease my mind when things get to hectic. i like to refer it to my portable playground. i mean almost everywhere i could have a decent game of ASSASINS CREED and PROTOYPE.. man i love my psp. without you im a worthless boring jerk hahahahaha...

so yeah i guess these are practically my basic favorites. i do have more in mind, but since i have less than one day and 2 more posts to go. i guess i'll stop here then..

cheers..:)

~entertaining~

we have like around 3 days left
till this project is over and i still have about 3 more posts to cover damn damn

so this time its about

~ENTERTAINMENT~

I believe that i have three favorite series that i enjoy very much. each one has a different way of storyline and each one has a unique plot that creates an aura of suspense and off course thrill. i actually prefer series that has a whole lot of mysteries to discover, we tend to be more eager about the plot and offcourse we tend to follow the series more and more..

1# HOUSE

house is a tv series which portrays the life of a doctor. we could see the way they diagnose their patients and how hard it is to identify a certain disease based on the symptoms only. the romance element between GREGORY HOUSE and LISA CUDDY is also another thing that people find interesting. how will Dr.House who is well known for is jerky attitude would win the heart of the ever busy Dr.Cuddy. well, why dont you look it up yourself. then you will understand my decision making it #1 most favorite tv series..

2# CSI

before house, CSI was actually #1 on my list. but even so it fell down the chart, it does not mean i dont enjoy it. i do, infact i think that its the most suitable tv series to be aired. why? because the message is clear, the thrill and suspense is way beyond the valley of excellent and its suitable for all ages.. the programme was later divided into 4 individual series, there is CSI:Crime Scene Investigation, CSI Miami, CSI New York and CSI Las Vegas. to me, all the series are worth watching and is just as interesting as the other..

3#HEROES

as a kid, i always imagined myself having superpowers, thus i believe HEROES had actually brought my imagination to reality. this series tell us a story of mutated human beings trying to live their lives as normal individuals. having gone through a lot of hardship and ordeals, they were somehow discriminated by the society . they had to battle their way to survive and in the same time try not to hurt others with their ability. Sylar, who is the main antagonist has the power to absorb other mutant's ability by killing them and sucking up their brain. so , these group of "special humans" need not only have to fight the society but also those from their same kind. and yes it does have a little similarity to X-men hahaha.

Music is one of my main passion while fashion is not really my thing, i do watch out for new fashion trends but i am not that obsessed with it. i dont really mind about what i wear as long as it looks decent and nice. Music in the other hand is a very very important issue in my life, i believe that it is one of the best way to sooth one's soul and relax one's mind. I get myself myself updated via radios usually. i mean when they start to promote then i'll try their recommendation and if it seems nice, its the right choice for me then..:)

however , despite my differences,
i do believe that music and fashion should never be separated .

I am kind of picky on my music choices, i hate metal music (no offence to the metal lovers) and prefer rather slow acoustics types of music or better known as synthpop music. But i dont really have personal band favorites, i believe that i like their song, not the artists themselves. so i guess that explains why i couldnt really talk about my favorite band. however, as long as their music is nice and relaxing i find it good music.for example....

yeah, i totally enjoy their songs
the best thing is their songs are totally chick magnets
so when you have the control of the "magnet" you have control of them haha.

Books are also a best friend of mine. i dont know why, but i just enjoy reading too.. through reading, you could spend a good part of your free time with improving your language and getting new knowledge about the world. they say that books are the key to every successful life. i have no idea the truth of the statement but i guess, that statement somehow rather motivates me to keep reading.
Recent books i have read?? your kidding me, you really want me to post the contents of my PHYSIOLOGY, ANATOMY , HISTOLOGY and ORGANIC CHEMISTRY books?? hahahahahahahahhahahahahahahaha.. lol!.

i guess its been quite some time since my last decent book. i mean in this course of medicine and dentistry, you practically have no time to read other books besides than the academic related. but i guess to answer you question i would say these three books:

"The Pillars of the Earth"

"World without end"

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows"

and oh yes, i actually joined this team to write a book about the lives of medical and dental students here in jordan, the title is "Kot Putih". we actually gathered the stories of the Malaysian Medical Students in One book with the title.. If luck is on our side, Karangkraf would like to have a go for it. lets just wish us luck.
this is how our book looks like:

well i guess that basically sums up my topic for entertainment. stay tuned for the next post on "my favorites" , same blog , same url and offcourse the same blogger. haha

~connecting via social networking~

seriously i do have to speed things up,
i feel so left behind, all of you are like waaaaaaay upfront.

well never mind, today its all about

~SOCIAL NETWORKING~

My friends and I usually connect through cell phones, regardless calling or sms-ing. But the most common way for us to connect is through the online programmes such as Instant messaging and Facebook. why? i believe that through phones we get a more direct approach the message is sent and you just know that your friend would recieve it. but.. there is a drawback. phones cost something which is not good if you could get something for free! haha. yes, the internet social networking programmes are used mainly because it is free. but the most important thing is the fact that it is easy to use, you just need to log on and eureka~ you are connected to the whole wide world.. internet social networking is way feasible on the stance that we could reach people everywhere. i have a huge network all over the world and it just seems inappropriate for me to be texting or calling my friends in the US or Europe via phone. i mean imagine, one sms costs us around 50 cents.so yeah i guess Facebook-ing and IM-ing is the best way..

Social networking programmes like Facebook has never done any harm to me. i guess, i enjoy it more than anyone else. i believe that it does not make my life miserable but instead make my life more meaningful. its not boring and you could connect with friends. what more do you want?

I do have mutliple accounts of social networks , let me see herm...
  1. Facebook
  2. Myspace
  3. Friendster
  4. Blogger
  5. Tagged
actually i have more, but these are the most common ones i use. what do i use it for? duh~~ to connect with my friends offcourse. like i told you, its the most easiest way for anyone to connect. in the other hand, facebook for example also keeps me updated with current issue happening. not only the new box office movies but also charity programmes like lifeline 4 gaza. i am actually a huge follower of the charity organisation. so facebook helps me to be connected and updated too.

The numbers of friends in my social network accounts are really a lot.
for example, i have more than 1000++ friends on facebook. logically, i do not know all of them. maybe around 80 % are those who i actually know and 90% are those who i have met. i hate it when someone adds me without any correlation to me and worst yet not even a single mutual friend. i was like, how the effing hell did you find me? so even though i do have 1000++ friends i still have 25 friend requests that i ignored. huh~!

Personally meeting friends online is cool, but meeting people face to face is even cooler. i prefer to meet someone directly through physical contact. why? because i believe that by this way, you could actually understand him or her better. infact, when you meet up, the bond is much closer to meeting up online. all in all i think that meeting up is just a much more relevant and trusted way to get to know someone, dont you?
I do have a twitter account but i rarely use it, i mean believe me, when you have multiple accounts for multiple sites , you just dont have the time to entertain each and everyone. so the choice has to be made. :)

till we meet again.. [-_-]

~our hero the internet~

man, you guys are damn damn fast..
i had trouble with exams and bla bla bla other boring stuffs,
explains my late posts for this blog..

so...

what have we here?

~THE INTERNET~

To me , its the best invention that scientist have ever came up with, i spend like 24 hours online.. since the internet could be accessed anywhere anytime and without any boundaries,
i believe i have abused the real "good cause" of its creation. even im on busses or in lrts i would go surfing the net on my phone, and yes sometimes during my toilet breaks hahahaha..

I use the internet for almost everything.. but mainly its my only way to connect with my friends and family back in malaysia. but at times i do search the net for recipes (yes guys can cook -.-") or even just to download movies. i mean seriously, its the best ever platform to do anything in the world. you could buy stuffs, downloads, connect and the best thing yet, it helps you answer any questions that happen to pop in your head thanks to the search engines.

(isnt the internet just cool, and no this isnt edited, try it yourself)

Another fact i guess you should know, is that whenever i go online i would use my favorite nick name, yup, i think you should have figured out by now , it is:

OP ULYA

Well i do receive a lot of questions regarding this name, what does "OP" actually mean. well, "OP" is actually a tittled given by the king for all graduates of RMC. so yeah, since i am a graduate, i always use it. its not that important anyway. i mean, i just put the initials there to make it look "cool"

Finding friends online is a must for all internet users. i actually did get to know a couple of friends online and i feel really really really close to them. it just happened that we were introduced by a friend online and we started chatting and we started to be really great friends. oh thank you lord internet for this unbelievable opportunity.

well a matter of trusting i guess comes from the way he/she interacts. this girl IFFAH seems nice and i guess we have the same character but "gedikness" haha. soo, yeah, the way he/she represents yourself would really mean a lot. trust would be gained if he/she shows that they deserve to be trusted and i totally trust IFFAH..

to iffah: kau wajib belanja aku. haha

My parents are really cool, they never ever monitored me when im going online, seriously, i believe that their presents make me uncomfortable and rather annoying.im glad they trust me, so if they do trust me, i need to show that i earn their trust. i should be watching things i shouldnt be watching and keep a well schedule so that it does not interfere with my personal life. i guess they think that its ok for me to go online, given the condition that i do not neglect my studies and my reality life. which simply means never be to obsessed.

Lastly, i believe the fact that says internet harms your connection with friends is totally unfeasible. why? i believe that internet is the one that helps us strengthen the bond between friends. we get updated with their current activities via social networking sights and most importantly get us connected even how far apart we are from each other . and that means a lot for someone studying overseas.

ps: i wonder how to get bored by going online. theres soo much to do.

till we meet again.. [-_-]

~of money and career~

hey there we meet again,
i totally love this topic, why? because i totally love money haha.

so dear readers these are my thoughts about money and career

check it out!

**************************************************************************

HOW IMPORTANT IS MONEY?

I guess i would say, REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY IMPORTANT.

well, dont give me those weird sarcastic looks, i know all of you feel the same way to but just wouldnt admit haha.. herm.. let me see, what makes money so important?

the first reason is because, now, everything needs money, i mean you cant go buying things without money can you ? where did you think the word "buying" came from? haha soo. money provides me with my everyday supplies i.e food, clothes, water, and of course internet!

but the main reason is ,
i guess, money is the source of power for everyone, when you have money you have all the power in the world, you could manage funds for those in need or you could establish organisations to help the less fortunate.. but then again with money, off course, you could be corrupted at the same time. with the wrong usage, the crime rates will increase too. so it actually depends on you yourself, whether you choose to help or to ruin others.

"remember with great money comes great responsibilities"

hahaha

WHERE DO I GET MY MONEY?

well, currently i'm under a scholarship from the ministry of defense so yeah, i get my money from the taxes your parents pay. hahaha.. but dont worry i will try to use it in the bestest way .
about part time jobs, i did actually have 3 part time jobs before, i was once a salesperson in a optical shop. so i sell spectacles and bla bla bla.. and believe me, i have the best knowledge on sunglasses, if someone bought a spectacle from petaling street and claims it to be original, believe me, i could spot the flaw the moment i see it . ahahhahahahaha dont believe so? try me. hahaha

then after a month at the optometrist, i actually lectured in one of the british council intstitute,it wasnt that hard, i got the job base on luck. i was specialized on public speaking skills, it was fun to be able to help our young boys and girls to polish their speaking skills..:) then i unbelievably decided to make a really weird turn in my "part-time career" life, i went back to my hometown in kedah and badaboom, i became a humble labour at one of my dad's cornfield. hahaha... ya i know, its such a big turn, but wth, its fun too. haha

WHAT DO I DO TO GET A DESIRED ITEM?

i usually save up, i believe that to do something we must plan well, especially in the financial aspect. when you save, you dont get too obsessed about what you want. and in the end of the day, you get what you want and still have a stable financial state. usually, what you want is not what you need..anyways, saving is a very good "exercise" for us to control our animal urge on shopping and spending our money . haha

HOW IMPORTANT IS WORK ETHICS & HARDWORK ?

i believe that work ethics is truly an important issue when we are at work, i say, that people who do not have ethics do not have personality. when you have ethics and guidelines, you tend to be more vigilant in doing your work. ethics also help you to excel in our job prospect. with ethics we become more, punctual, enthusiastic and most importantly serious..

hardwork in the other hand seems to be an element that people always emphasize in anything you do and yes, i agree with the fundamentals of hardwork. i believe that when you work hard, you are more focused and your work would be done according to its requirements. a guy who works hard would definitely be better than those who dont and thats a proven fact!

THE CURRENT ECONOMIC CLIMATE?

Well, i guess everyone is aware that our country is currently in a big economic crisis. everywhere we have problems regarding financial issues. after some "amature" research i have done for debate, i found out that the reason for this to happen is because the government had actually given too many tax reliefs and subsidies. in the end of the day, there is not enough money to roll in again to maintain our economic burden, thus, we have something that we call financial deficit.. which means the expenditure is more than the income.

due to this recession, i do have some problems faced by my friends. the quota for the government scholarship have been reduced . its really clear with only 1500 JPA scholar holders overseas compared to 3000 during the previous years (please correct my errors). even for the special military of defense scholarship has been reduced tremendously, with over 30 scholars for the past 2 years, they reduced the amount of scholars to 11 people ONLY!. and that is even after the side of the sponsors pulled some strings in the ministry of education..

i guess if this situation continue, yes, definitely my future planning would be interrupted and no longer be feasible. lets just hope we have someone like Tun Mahathir in the future to straighten things up..:)

THREE COOLEST JOB?

1.) PILOTS

they get to travel around the world with high salary and their job is just that easy. i mean, all you have to do is take off, fly for about 20 minutes and then just set it on autopilot. then you would doze off on your cockpit bed and the next thing you know is that your way over in america just worrying to land. haha (believe me , my father was a pilot too)

2.)ASTRONAUTS

ok, the moment you read this i know, most of you would be nodding agreeing with me. i mean, how can you ever defy that being an astronaut is not cool? you not only travel around the world, but around space! wow wow wow. hahaha you get high salary and man the experience you gain. but off course the drawbacks? you would have no family life.. boo-hoo

3.)POLITICIANS

yeah yeah i know you most of you wouldnt agree, but still, if you really look into the job prospect. everyone would want to be one. i mean how cool is it when you can have a say in the parliament, having power to make a change for our people. to help the nation to a better one.. im sure, everyone dreams to affect and change peoples lives. sooo, politicians have the best say right? seriously, well payed, great power and off course fine position in the social hierarchy, you gotta join me in this one...

THREE UNCOOLEST JOB?

1.)ARTISTS

yes i know, they look cool. but they arent really. i mean, offcourse you get a lot of money and stuff, but what do they really do? act? sing? dance?to me it should never be considered as a job either. it should just be called a hobby.

2.)SECRETARIES

they do help in a company's organisation, fixing meetings and reminders. making sure that their boss attends a conference and stuff. but imagine all that hard work for a average pay? come on, you wouldnt want to be working as peoples "alarm clocks" do you? i mean we do have cellphones equipped with reminders and meeting schedulers, infact i guess it does a better job with alarms and stuff haha..

3.) MECHANICS

well, this i refer to the normal average everyday mechanics. not the professionals which work in ferrari or so... i mean, how boring could it be, to stare at the mechanical parts of a machine? getting your shirts all dirty and greasy. with those sticky lubricants and oh not to forget the smell of the lubricants. man that is soo uncool to be working in a dirty manner hahaha

***************************************************

well i guess that somehow rather reps up my perspective on the work and money issue,

i hope you understand what im trying to say it may be wrong it may be right, you choose,
its just thoughts of a learning lad..
:)

till we meet again.. [-_-]

~fulfilling my dreams~

hey all, im back
well, day 3 demands us to share about our achievements and success stories
so to the youths out there, here you go..:)

****************************************************************************

Achievements?
well im sure that everyone, i mean EVERYONE, must have succeeded in something at least once throughout their life time. its just whether their achievements are big or small. to me,it doesnt really matter, whether its big or small, if my heart is fulfilled then i consider that as a successful achievement.

ACTIVITIES: i consider myself as the linguistic type, i have this advantage when it comes to debating , public speaking and even spelling-bees..
but i guess my top achievement goes to

F1INSCHOOLS.
yup i know , its something really rare .. its actually a program under the ministry of education, we actually design miniature prototype F1 cars and race them..this competition includes aspects of design, speed, sponsorship and presentation..

how did i do?
well..

i was actually the national champion for 2008.

then,

i bid 4th in the international competition , 0.27 marks behind third (which went to australia)
my team also manage to obtain the best presentation award during this competition.

DEBATING
was also one of my proudest achievement, i was in the rmc debate team , and my team actually made it to the prime minister trophy's tournament finals..
we lost though hahahaha..
but i did debated for varsity, i was the team for intec uitm in the ICRC DEBATE TOURNAMENT.. i got speaker rankings of 32 out of 520 speakers . so yeah i guess thats an achievement.:)
when i reached jordan, i also continued debating here.. and just to make a change. i started to debate in malay. unbelievably, my team won the tournament here. and appeared as the best team of all time.. oh how i miss debating..:)

SPELL-IT-RIGHT
I know its lame, but i was forced to enter .. my teacher actually registered me without my knowledge. one day before the tournament, then was i only told about the competition.
in the end of the day, i managed to place 2nd in the Kuala Lumpur State finals..

SPORTS: being a student of rmc , its impossible for us to escape this so called sports. i do play some rugby and swimming, but i have a totally big interest in swimming more than any other sports. i was actually the college swimmer and won 2 golds in the kuala lumpur open swimming competition..

ACADEMIC: i wouldnt say that i was a really bright boy, im not. im lazy to be frank. hahaha
but somehow, after my spm, i got 3 scholars. from petronas, jpa and ministry of defence.
one was to the UK, one was to AUSTRALIA and the other was to JORDAN.

I settled down with the offer from ministry of defense, after looking into the job prospect and how much i will get for my income in the future. lets just hope i made a good choice..

**************************************************************

A Successful Person?
i guess what makes a person successful is a very subjective issue, i strongly believe th at, when you set a goal, and you manage to achieve the goal (or even if you dont achieve it) BUT you fulfill your heart's desire, then he/she could be called a successful person.

to make it clear, i'll give you a case.
doctor A sets a goal to achieve a salary of RM10 000 for the next 2 years.
doctor B sets a goal to treat 500 patients for the coming month..

so if doctor A manages, than he is successful, even though he does not stand on the yardstick of doctor B. while even if doctor B gets less pay for the next 2 years, but he manage to treat 500 patients for the coming month, then doctor B is successful too..

so my point is, success is a very subjective issue, it actually depends on your yardsticks and

goals.

but....

in every successful person, he/she must be well equipped with positive values in them. to me , the values needed are:
  • determination
  • enthusiasm
  • perseverance
  • optimistic
********************************************************************

INSPIRATION AND IDOL?

i've never actually had an idol in my life,
but if i were to choose, i would say, Tun Mahathir Muhammad

he has done a lot for the nation.. no, not only for malaysia. he is really really popular here in jordan itself,
rumors has it, he was once jordan's unofficial financial advisor..

but what made me interested was to read his background and all. we could see that he did go through a lot of hurdles through his way to the top but he went through each and every ordeal calmly and managed to grab hold of himself. he was never a quitter he was a fighter!
infact i even finished reading his book, dilemma melayu!
i highly recommend this book to you guys.:)

*******************************************************************

Ambitions?
yes, through my years growing up, i had a whole bunch of ambition,
but truely, these three bid the top 3 ranks:

1.Politician
2.Dentist
3. Archeologists

I have always wanted to be a politician. i thought that politicians are the only group of people that could help change the lives of our people, help the sick and poor. help other countries in turbulence like palestine and stuff.
but then i grew up, and i read newspapers, breach of trust here , corruption there and conspiracy everywhere.

but deep inside, i still have that eagerness to be a politician.
some one said, if you become a politician then you will be corrupted.
i say, well if thats the case i'll be the first not corrupted politician.
the choice is in our hands.

A Dentist is second on my list. i believe that dentists have a very interesting job prospect. yes, i know, people say that, we have to look in peoples mouths everyday. but if you were to know. dentist does not only handle the oral sector of a human being. they have control on things from
the neck and above. yes , even facial reconstruction is under maxillofacial specialist which is actually a dentist specialist.
the second reason is mainly because of the time a dentist have. we get to help the society, we get good pay and we also have time for our family. i mean, whats the meaning of life, if everything is about work work work work and work. right?

An Archeologist is actually a long long long childhood ambition. i was actually driven from the movie, JURASSIC PARK.. well, they made the archeologists work look soo damn cool.. but i got to know that it takes a lot of patience and a lot of time.. and besides i didnt know which channel to follow for archeologists hahaha.

but although i am a dental student now, i still strongly hope that one day i could be part of the national parliament. that is my dream, and that is what i wish will happen..:)

******************************************************
Goals?
My goals are really very simple.. NOT!! HAHAHA

  1. to score for deanlists next semester
  2. to succesfully finish my umrah and haji while im still studying in the middle east
  3. to graduate dental school and become the desired military doctor
  4. pention after 10 years in the military and pursue charity works
  5. by the age of 30 to finally be able to take part in the elections.

oh and ohyeah ohyeah, to have travelled to as many countries as possible before i finish my 5 years here. w0hooo..

yeah yeah, i know, it may seem kinda impossible to achieve everything
BUT
" THOSE WHO FAIL TO PLAN, PLAN TO FAIL"

~of love and empathy~

yes.. love and empathy..
these two words are actually the most important words we use in our lives,
who could live without love and empathy,
if you can, than tell me your name and i'll register you to an asylum
you must definitely have an error somewhere in your natural emotions. haha

this post will mainly answer to the family and friends issue ,
for i believe that our relationship with our family and friends is where love and emphathy is needed the most.. and so here it goes..:)

******************************************************
Family structure and members?

my family mainly consists of 5 members.

my dad,
my mum,
my eldest sister,
me
and offcourse,
my youngest brother.

My dad is an ex- royal malaysian air force officer , with his last position as a Colonel.
he too was an ex-student from RMC (royal military college),
he is now an instructor at the Ipoh Aviation Academy.
he teaches those who has the interest in aviation and tries to make their dreams come true.:)

he is rather a strict father, mostly controlling his sons and daughters actions,
but deep inside, he has a very kind and tender heart.

he mainly enjoys fishing and (unbelievably) remote control airplanes,
i still remember the days when he would, build his own remote control airplanes and fly them together with me, oh the joy i see on his face. makes me want to go back in time..

My mum is a very loving one, she is the one that listens to our problems and trys her best to give us her advice. she is a full time housewife haha and she is the best when it comes to cooking,
if ever i have a problem , she would be the one for me to pour all my problems to.

she was born in selangor, with a mix blood of chinese and javanese, and yes
i do not follow her trait as you can see, how dark my skin is hahaha.

My sister is 21 and she is currently a flying instructor just like my dad.
as kids, we didnt really see things eye to eye,
as a matter of fact, each time i see her, i will quarrel and have huge fights.
but that was then, when we were all too young and immature.
i feel, that now, we are much more attached to each other
honestly i miss her a lot! i mean a lot!

she does have this temper, but she also have this soft side of her,
i find my sister unique, she is able to fight for her rights even with dudes!
infact, because of this , she now holds a record, in MALAYSIAN BOOK OF RECORDS, being recorded as the first malaysian lady pilot to fly across the south east asia, with a SINGLE ENGINE plane.

My brother, we have a very very huge age gap, my brother and i have a difference of 9 years apart. I guess, thats what makes him the most pampered child in the family.
everyone has the "most manja child" in the family kan?

yes he is cute, just like me,muahahahahaha
dear brother, you still have a long journey to go,
make your family proud, show the world that you can be the best among the best.

my siblings have weird names to,
i mean,
im Ulya aqamah
my sister is Nur Uzmana
and
my little brother is Ulil amri

YES ITS WEIRD, But atleast it has a meaning.:)

insyallah im a future dentist,
my sister is a pilot
guess what my brother dreams to be ?
a flying doctor! -.-" typical. haha
but let's just wait and see..:)

FAMILY ACTIVITIES?

my family is not really the "shopping" or "luxurious" type of family
we enjoy the outdoors more than anyone does.

when i was at home,
we would go for a family picnic somewhere on a remote island,
during the weekends
my dad owns this big cabin boat, and he really does use it all the time.
we would go for fishing trips as a family and enjoy what mother nature has instilled for us.

if not

my dad, would just bring us out for occasional swimming programmes,
my family is a family of swimmers,

i could finish a 100 metres free-style swim at the age of 4.
my dad says that swimming is a very important asset in oneself,
you could not only save your life, but you could help others to survive too when their drowning..:)

(i dont really have a collection of our photos, i'm way over seas, and all of the family outing pictures are back home in malaysia.. oh well, if i do find any, i'll try to post it.)

MY BEST FRIENDS?

I do have this huge group of best friends,
but i guess i could only choose one as my main best friend.:)
i chose him because we had a very interesting and beautiful way to gain friendship.

(no offence to my other friends, i love you guys just as much, but i couldnt blog about each and everyone of you here can i?)

readers, this is FAIZ ROHIM, faiz these are the readers...

honestly, we hated each other, we never agreed to anything..
i hated him! he was a boastful, arrogant and selfish jerk!

[-.-"]

well that was before i got to know him,
he was one of my squadron members in rmc,
during our 1st year, we were always in fights,
we would go talking bad things about each other.
but then ,
thats when our training in rmc showed its wonders.

at first only plain hatred was there with us,
but the days in rmc totally helped a lot,
having to go through all the so called "ragging" together,
having to go through a lot of activities together,
our bond just bloomed.

well to cut short. after we got to know each others family and knew about each other's background, we got closer then ever. to me, this friendship is the best.
we had to go through many ordeals, before we got to see the wonders in each other.

at the end of form four we were even given the chance to climb mount kinabalu together,
that was a very unforgettable moment.:)

oh and to make it better, we both had the same hobby, FISHING!
so yeah. we had the same interest, we cared for each other, so we are now the bestest mates ever..:)

but the sad thing is that, now we are far apart,
we rarely do stuff together,
but we promised to go out for a fishing trip, the 1st thing i come back.
im sooo looking forward to it.:)

HOW DO I INTRODUCE MYSELF?

usually, i start with a warm smile and a hand shake,
then the tough part takes place..

introducing my name..

jeez, everywhere people tend to mispronounce it,
but i dont really mind,
because thats what make me special,
when you have a "hard to pronounce" name,
they actually remember it better! hahaha

fyi, its pronounced as

U'LYA, OK...
NOT AULYA, OLAYA OR UULLIA..

-.-"

IS IDENTITY IMPORTANT? HOW IMPORTANT IS STANDING OUT?

from my point of view, identity was never a barrier for me being friends,
i dont mind having anyone as a friend, i dont really mind, where he /she comes from,
what she does, how her atitude is towards others,
as long as they are nice to me, and cause me no problem, then its a big OK to be my friend.:)

standing out is actually something important,
when you stand out,
people know you better,
you have this "power of influence", people would respect you and listen to what you say,
some may even put you as their idols and as a good example. so yeah!.
standing out is importantas long as it's for a good cause,
especially when you are trying to fix things out.:)

DOES RELIGION AFFECT FRIENDSHIP?

now thats a whole big fat NO!

i believe that religious understanding should never be a reason for you to avoid being friends with one another. living in a diverse country with a lot of religion and cultural difference,
i believe, we should try to tolerate,.

every religion teaches their believers the best of life,
there is absolutely no religion that encourageous their followers to do harm and bad things.
i was taught to never downgrade or provoke people from other religion.
when i was in my primaries, i actually went to BANDUNG INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
somewhere in indonesia.

(this is my class in the international school, and i know i nampak selekeh and gemok, but things changed. hahaha wink3)

there i met alot of friends,
from all over the world, bringing different beliefs and culture.
and i actually had a blast with my international school friends.
so people, get rid of the religion barriers.

"friendship is a very wide and subjective issue, never pinalize one due to his/her religion."

>.<

HOW DO I CATEGORIZE MY FRIENDS?

i say, we dont have the specific categories. my friends come from different "catagories" i have friends who are emo, punk, skaters , hoppers , geeks and even nerds. but that never changed anything, we still hang out together despite the different interest that we all have. personally, i dont like to be catagorized, i believe that my state in the middle is the best place that one could ever have. i am lenient and i could mix around with anyone, from any walks of life.:)

********************************************************

well thats it for day 2, welcome to my family guys!!

ps: i do have more to tell about my family, but if i do tell everything, your fingers would hurt from scrolling down haha
