1 MALAYSIA !

'SATU MALAYSIA' . Do you think its really happening ? To me, i dont think so. No offence to other races but I can still see the obvious 'RACISM' happening in our country! How can we proudly say 1Malaysia ?! My vision in next 5 years is to see ALL RACES LIVE IN HARMONY TOGETHER & NO RACISM SHOULD BE HAPPENING !

I would definitely think of MY COUNTRY ,MALAYSIA FIRST !Without this country where can i find multiple races living together ?Without Malaysia who am i ? Without Malaysia where would I be ? TENSION between races ? I don't think its all the time but maybe a couple of times/ for only certain issues. Problems cant be avoided when different races of different mind sets living together ...

Typical Malaysian Stereotype ?
Hmmm...I think people from all over the world would think MALAYSIA is a country with many races & beliefs. As for the country i think they would compare our cleanliness with SINGAPORE (obviously ours is the dirty one) SADLY. For typical stereotype , i would say... i've heard foreigners mentioned before that they thought MALAYSIA IS ' MALAY - ASIA' where only malay people live ! I lauged like mad when i heard that! LOL ! In the future, i would want people to view MALAYSIA as a HARMONY COUNTRY WITH MANY DIFFERENT RACES LIVING TOGETHER & TO ENVY OUR COUNTRY(Hopefully in the futute MALAYSIA would be ONE OF THE CLEANEST COUNTRY) *I doubt* HAHAH... 

Ok, i was just expressing what i think is true ,alright ? No offence to anyone/any party ! BRANDED PRODUCT. Is it important ? HELL NO ITS NOT!! But on the other hand, who doesnt want to own branded stuff ,correct me if im wrong. Hmmmmm.... BRAND is sometimes QUALITY cos like a saying goes 'How much you pay is how much you get'.

LOREAL would be the BRAND that STANDS UP for something from my point of view. From MAKE-UPS to SHAMPOOS & Facial products. It connects with youth especially girls as for make ups & their other products sort of boost confidence in a person. Get what i'm trying to tell you ? Its not CHEAP but affordable compared to Estee Lauder & Etc. ; )

FAVOURITE BRANDS

Its not VERY EXPENSIVE, I LOVE their style & fashion , their QUALITY is great ! :D

LOVE their SHOES especially cos its COMFY although expensive but worth to buy ! Bags are also awesome ! :D

Quite expensive for a student like me BUT its worth to buy because its effective & my skin has become much much better compared to the other products i've used before ! : )

BOOKS are like a total NO - NO for me ! : ( I dont enjoy reading novels and stuff like that. Except for my studies !(which i have no choice but to read ? ) :S I do read newspapers & magazines.. hehehe.. *winkx*

INFO ON ENTERTAINMENT

I usually get information on the entertainment i like from CHANNEL E on astro ! But when i dont have tv, then my second choice would definitely be the INTERNET once again ! ; ) I LOVE LOVE LOVE WATCHING CHANNEL E !! It totally changes your mood cos theres hot gossips on celebs , theres programmes where they guide you what to dress and stuff like that. Theres also a programme called Dos & Dont's which guides you to do/not do when its your wedding(example) ..Ohhh E-NEWS hosted by Ryan Seacrest & Giuliana Rancic is damn AWESOME! Social Networking ...

FACEBOOK is the main communication medium that me & my friends use to communicate most because its easy ,free & almost everyone has an account : ) The negative side of facebook might be too open cos everyone can read if its posted on the 'wall' but we can still communicate in a private way through inbox message on facebook. : )

Social networking sites like FACEBOOK & TWITTER makes my life BETTER of course ! As for facebook , i can easily keep in touch with my friends & family while for TWITTER i get to know the latest updates on what my friends are doing & vice versa for them as well : ) It definitely makes life MUCH EASIER !I have Facebook,Twitter,Blogger,Google,Youthsays & Friendster accounts. : ) SO MANY huh ? But the main ones are FACEBOOK,TWITTER & BLOGGER. My friendster is dead i can say. hehehe... I update what i'm doing /express my thoughts thru these social networking sites !

Currently, i have 929 friends on facebook & 83 pending friend request(from people i do not know). Out of the 929 friends i can say only 40% are the ones i really know , another 40% are the ones i know who are they but i'm not close, 10% are people who my friends know them, another 10% are random people which i dunno. I would say i'd prefer to meet people online for the first time so i would know how they look like (like how in bahasa i would say 'Boleh agak dulu') hehehe...

YES ! I have a TWITTER account. I currently have 57 Followers , I Follow some of my close friends & people i know..Besides that, i follow quite a number of celebrities like ryan seacrest, giuliana rancic , kim kardashian & etc just to know a lil bit what are they up too . (FOR FUN!) : )

Online-ing !!

GOING ONLINE. This is one of the topic that I'd LOVE to talk about cos I'M AN ONLINE ADDICT (as my mum says!) I can be online almost 24 hours if i dont sleep ! YES. I'm that addicted to online & thats why i wrote on my blog profile that 'I Doubt I can live without the Internet' . ; ) Well its normal for ONLINE ADDICTS like ME ! :S I usually go on Facebook,I Tweet ,Check mails,Msn & of course I BLOG ! :D I don't usually use nicknames cos I LOVE MY NAME & I don't think its necessary to use a nickname . Just don't expose TOO MUCH details online.

I Have become good friends with people i met online. NOT VERY GOOD till i tell them everything about me. Just good as in theres topic to chat about . Get what i mean ? Ok ,i would call the person 'My online fren'.. I knew this online fren from facebook , he added me but nvr chat before (i asked him after we chatted,he said just randomly added me) Oh well, i started to chat with him first. Why ? Because i saw his main display pic was I-Phones. Recently i had this interest in I-Phone that i wanted to know more abt it from I-Phone users. Ok the main point here is i had things to talk to him because I-Phone was the main topic & besides that, he told me abt his family whereby he lives alone at Jb & his parents are both working overseas .They do not care much abt him although they are filthy rich. SAD, rite ? I trust him cos theres nth to be afraid of as i did not tell much abt myself.

Oh PARENTS ? Well my mum doesnt controls but she MONITORS ! LOL ! Ok , how ? She has a facebook account herself & she reads my blog all the time : ) enuf said huh ? hehehe...My dad doesn't really go online therefore he just knows what im doing thru my mum. Well my parents thinks i'm an ONLINE ADDICT. Like i mentioned earlier ! ; )

NO!Online world did NOT make me disconnected with my friends. It connected me even better with my friends ! Especially social networks like FACEBOOK & TWITTER ! I get to contact my old highschool frens & able to keep in touch by just going online ! : D

Work & Money ?

MONEY is NOT EVERYTHING in this world. Did you know this term created by Singaporean Girls called '5 Cs ' ?? 'Cash,Car,Condo,Credit Card & Career'. If guys have that 5Cs then they'll put you on their date list . I'm not saying all of them but those materialistic ones. I think money is a NEED when it comes to daily lives like for food, to pay rent ,pay for college ,transportation and stuff like that but it is not entirely EVERYTHING till you would go to the extend of cheating people to get money !

I basicly get money from my parents right now as i'm still a student so yeah they'll give me my weekly allowance : ) I do work part time but i dont get much so i use mainly the allowance from my parents . IF I WANT TO BUY SOMETHING , nowadays i usually SAVE UP myself rather than asking my parents to get it for me. Unlike when i was younger i always felt like by just 'asking my parents' i could get it..so easy! BUT I didnt think on their behalf. Money isn't easy to be earned so if i want anything i think i should make an effort and save up myself. Like recently 2 months back , i saved up my own money to buy myself a camera :)

In my generation , to me it is IMPORTANT to have a strong work ethic but on the other hand , many people think that its secondary and its not very important as long as they get the money. For me ,i think if i want to work, i have to be hardworking and not take things lightly cos 1st impression is always important as well.

The CURRENT ECONOMOY CLIMATE isn't that good and it might be affecting our generation in time to come. Even recently our economy infected malaysian car sales . My dad is working in car lines & few months back i remember the sales was decreasing due to the economy. But im sure if all youths strive hard for the future and take things seriously , we can make the economy rise up for the better in time to come. : )

Let me list down to you the 3 coolest & 3 least coolest jobs in the world and WHY. : )

COOLEST JOBS
1) Supermodel because all you need to do is just pose and walk/pose in front of camera ,then earn big money & fame !
2) World famous blogger because you not only get to express youself,you dont have to work outside , you get to travel ,being sponsored by people and become famous just by working online.
3)Fashion designer because you get to do what you like doing ,not everyone can do this ,if you're good you earn big money & fame as well.

LEAST COOLEST JOBS
1) Salesmen/promoter because you have to talk so much,persuade people,get scolded at times just to get sales and most of the time you have to repeat & repeat the same things over and over again.
2)Garbage collecter (no offence to them .i respect them alot cos without them ,our rubbish would just pile up in front of our house) but its not an easy job & not everyone would do it cos it stinks.
3)Program coordinator because you will have so much stress especially if its organizing a big event ,if somethings screws up, you will just die being fired.

My ambition & small success

I have NOT ACHIEVED anything big which till it was published in the NEWSPAPER or anything BUT i'm proud to say that from blogging itself , I've earned some money which is NOT very little and NOT ALOT either. I'm a blogger since 2007 but i didnt know about blogging advertising agency like Nuffnang & Adverlets. Since last feb , i began a new chapter by creating a NEW BLOGSITE to start afreash. I've join a few blogging contest for example by PROJECT ALPHA & NUFFNANG. My current earning thru nuffang since feb 10' is already RM105. (it might not be alot to those of you who have earned much more than me ,but i feel VERY HAPPY to be able to earn money just from blogging) Look at me now ! I'm even blogging for REAL VOICES 2 ! THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN YOUTHSAYS! :D

I would define a successful person NOT by their looks or money but from their achievement. For example, i have a friend who did not even qualify for his SPM but he worked hard. Living in Malacca 20 years ago,he thought he would make a better living in singapore so he took the risk and chance to explore. He started by working as a bell boy in a hotel. Since then he was slowly promoted to front desk ,then manager and so on. Today , He holds one of the biggest position in a 5Star Hotel in Singapore and controls a few big properties owned by Capitaland . Now thats, SUCCESSFUL ! 

What inspires me ? My role model would be MY DADDY ! Why ? Because he inspires me with the way he takes care of us 2 , being so caring & loving & let me tell you HE IS THE BEST DAD IN THE WORLD !!! He went thru hardship during his childhood ,therefore he wants us to have a MUCH BETTER/EASIER LIFE than what he had experience before. He also always thinks ahead and plans stuff for us which really inspires me .

AMBITIONS ? Well , as i'm taking MEDIA STUDIES. I've planned to work either with TV STATIONS,RADIO OR MAGAZINE COMPANY. As for my part time , I enjoy blogging so much! Its a way that i can express myself and also improve my english! I hope to be one of the future FAMOUS MALAYSIAN BLOGGER *Fingers crossed* ; ) & Last but not least , MODELLING has always been my passion since young & i've started modelling part time. Mainly now for an online boutique which is www.redant-story.com. I also hope to be a successful model /maybe a successful part time ones in time to come ! The 'FREDERICKS'

HELLO AGAIN!Its me ,STACEY ! :D Hope you remember my first post regarding youth ? (*Fingers crossed*) Ok i'm back with my 2nd topic which is about FAMILY & FRIENDS!

I shall start with my beloved family ..I am the eldest in the family & i have a younger brother . My family surname is FREDERICKS. I'm a mix portuguese & chinese so that explains the 'unique' name. XD My family & I are VERY CLOSE & We spend alot of time together especially during the weekends ! DINNER is A MUST for us to sit together and eat(thats my culture) & we often chat till late night sometimes. Weekends are spent either at shopping mall or home. We make it a practise every saturday,as a family we'll go to church together in the evening. Below is a picture taken recently of my HAPPY FAMILY during my brother's birthday dinner last monday : )

Next , FRIENDS. Below is a picture recently taken when i went in to Singapore to hang out with few of my ex-schoolmates which are the few closest ones to me. Me & my bestfriend ,Laliitha have not hung out for quite a long time already due to her studies & that i'm often not at jb. : (  I had SO MUCH FUN hanging out with them because i feel COMFORTABLE talking & joking with them.

Next , When I'm meeting new people ... I would describe myself as a person who cant speak cantonese(although i understand a little) Thats because most of the people in KL speaks cantonese instead of mandarin(which i can speak quite fluently). I would also say I'm from JB & I'm 19 this year(of course after telling my name) :D

IDENTITY is definitely NOT IMPORTANT to me & my friends because i dont think its necessary to care that much about that. Being different is NOT a thing you yourself choose to be just to STAND OUT from the rest. I mean if it really happens that its a whole different story ,right ? I do stand out from some of my friends cos they would say i'm tall , that i did the part time modelling ,and my hair was RED after modelling for Toni&Guys Salon. But i just dyed it back to dark brown today. : ) (Too much attention captured when i'm having red hair) HAHAHAH...

RELIGION DOES NOT AFFECT MY CHOICE OF FRIENDS. Why ? Maybe to some people they would only prefer to be friends with the people from the same culture & etc. I think thats a stupid thing to do /think of ! Come on ! We live in MALAYSIA ! We have so many different RELIGIONS & Beliefs. So You are just gonna be friends with the same religion ? Of course NOT ,right ? So in conclusion, Religion NEVER AFFECTS MY CHOICE OF FRIENDS! ; ) I have friends from different religions ,honestly & I Have nothing to complain !

How do my friends and I categorize people from our age group ? Hmmm.... have you heard of 'LA - LAS' ?? Hehehehe... well its a term used in my college whereby a person dresses up in a COLOURFUL way, takes pictures in a different way(love to act cute with different poses) & etc. Get what i mean ? Another one would be 'Ah BENG' ...That for a guy who doesnt dress up properly & uses like old clothes & slipper to go out... with the HAIRSTYLE (Long fringe at the front with bright colors)... The last one would be what i think /call them.. I would call them 'ACCENT-ERS' ..You must be wondering what right ? LOL !It derives from the word ACCENT ! Ok we malaysians normally use lahh and stuff like that. But i've met a couple of people(quite many) who likes to use their 'FAKE ACCENT' in their daily lives when talking to people & i cannot stand that! Come on, you are NOT FROM ENGLAND/ US! So speak like a Malaysian !

Youth Today

First and foremost , I would like to introduce myself before continue sharing my thoughts on this blog..I'm Stacey Anne Fredericks ,19 this year & I'm currently a Mass Communication student majoring in Media Studies. I am portuguese mix chinese , I enjoy blogging and modelling part time. I'm so proud and SUPER HAPPY to be chosen as one of the 50 lucky youths to blog for Real Voices 2! :D THANK YOU A GAZILLION , YOUTHSAYS! 

I find this first topic very interesting & nice to talk about .I'm sure you would ponder and think WHY ?? Well all of us who join the Youthsays are obviously YOUTH am i right ? So therefore, i'm guessing some of you would agree with me and some might not agree that to me i think that for our generation ,the future is something to WORRY ABOUT. Agree ? Before i tell you why i think our future is something to worry about , i would like to share on WHATS THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING YOUTH TODAY. All of us come from different walks of life and how we choose to lead our life, its all up to ourself ,dont you think so ? Some people may choose the right path and some may end up regreting the path they chose.

As for me, i'm glad to say that i personally think i've chose the right path and the best thing about being youth today is i get to enjoy college life and meet more new people .I'm now in my second year of diploma and I enjoy what i'm taking up right now which is Media Studies. As a youth , its really GOOD because we don't have to be stressed up working(although some students from college work part time,but thats different) ,afraid of being fired by your boss if your performance ain't good and stuff like that.As i mentioned earlier, i think our future is something to worry about because i can see many youth nowadays take things for granted especially in their studies which will NOT only WASTE THEIR PARENT'S MONEY but also RUIN their future in time to come.

I think 'rebellious' is the word for YOUTHS. I know NOT ALL but most of us are rebellious in nature and i strongly think its quite normal for youths because we are still not fully matured like an adult yet. From my personal experience , i do admit i have rebelled against my own parents before (most of us do, right ? LOL) Oh well, I remember myself arguing and raising my voice against my mum(which i regretted so much) when i wanted to go out with my friends and my parents didnt allow me to and i die die wanted to make them say yes! :P Alright,alright that was in the past few years k ?

Youth today have a MUCH EASIER LIFE than our parents generation compared to our generation and i feel SO LUCKY for that! My dad always tells me about his childhood time and all.. He used to walk to school  when he was young ,but my dad DROVE ME to School everyday ! My dad had 5cents for pocket money daily(sometimes nothing) while i had RM5 daily to school ! My dad didnt get any birthday presents/sometimes don't even celebrate his birthday while I can choose what cake i want, what present i want ! (I know i'm quite spoit but not VERY SPOILT.) Hehehe... I'm sure most of you experience almost the same thing as i do ,right ?right ? right ? ; )

Next, what is my biggest fear in the world other than death ? Hmmmmm..... that would be LOSING MY MEMORY !!! Just YOU IMAGINE this... One day after waking up from my beauty sleep, i SUDDENLY cant even recall whats my name , where am i , who are all the people around me calling me 'Stacey'... That would be the WORSE THING EVER!!! I could just die... :( That would also be the saddest thing ever !!! Because i won't remember my parents,how much they love and cared for & i wouldnt remember my lovely childhood ! Besides, i also wouldn't remember /recognize who is my beloved bf ! Then he has the chance /excuse to get another girl ! Ok, i'm just kidding!he wouldnt, i know :)

Ice-cream makes me SUPER HAPPY !! :D Do you like ice-cream ? Who doesn't right ? Those of you who do not enjoy eating ice-cream ,let me personally tell you that YOU ARE MISSING OUT THE BEST THING IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD!! I feel so so happy when i see the colours/flavours of ice-cream when i walk past the shop/stall . I would just have the URGE to buy and eat it even though i'm full or out of cash. Let me share with you a picture of me after getting myself Gelatomio ice-cream at Orchard,Singapore.(I was so tired,that explains my expression) It was expensive(as the exhange rate was 2.3 for Singapore) and yet i still bought it for $6 . BUT! I was happy!

The MOST DIFFICULT HURDLE i have overcome so far in my life would be the time last year whereby i had to choose my path which was either to study in college or continue with form 6. I had a tough time thinking everyday and night even when i was sleeping i dreamed about my future! I was so scared to make a decision as i was afraid i might take the wrong step and ruin my future ! My dad wanted me to continue my form 6 and join the police force and honestly i had no interest at all in that .My dad offered to buy me a car if i continued and stayed back at jb with form 6. As a human being,i got tempted by the car issue & then sign up for form 6. By the 2nd day of orientation I GAVE UP FORM 6. I couldnt stand the environment which was all malay subjects which had NOTHING to do with what i want to be in the future. I told my mum first then my dad when i got home. My dad got so mad at me & we didnt talk for quite some time but in the end he told me to think wisely and theres no more turning back for me he said. So i thought and thought ,i did my research online about colleges and courses i can choose from. In the end, i decided and told my dad what i wanted to study and all . He agreed but of course worried for me as well . But look at me now, i'm so happy that i'm doing fine here at KL and with the course that I LOVE ! MASS COMMUNICATION.  : ) THANK YOU DAD! From my experience,it thought me that whatever decision i should make in the future,i should follow my guts and of course think wisely and not be influenced by what people want to decide for me.

FAMILY or FRIENDS ?? Which one comes 1st to you ?? To most youth nowadays, i can see that FRIENDS comes first on their list . Why? Because friends are 'cooler' to hang out with ,friends are always by their side, friends are fun...Yadi yadi yadi yada..... But did you ever think , when trouble comes to you , Do you think that all of your FRIENDS will come and help/save you out of the situation ?? 9 out of 10 would be NO ! So why bother forgetting where you come from ? Who were the one who raised you up since you were small and didnt even know what was ABC ? Many youths nowadays forget that their family care for them and neglect their family. Yes, your parents may nag at you most of the time but at the end of the day ,they would go all out for you no matter what it takes when you fall ! Can your friend do that ? Not ALL all of them will ! As for me, my FAMILY IS NUMBER 1 for me ,ALWAYS WILL, FOREVER WILL BE !
