Day 10: 1Malaysia

·         What do you think of 1Malaysia? Please explain your answer (likes, dislikes, emotions etc) in details. What is your vision of Malaysia in the next 5 years?

Personally when I found about the 1 Malaysia, I thought that it was impossible and still am cause its not an easy task. It just doesn't happen overnight. We are all still racists with one another and yeah don't go all 'We're not!' trick cause seriously I don't put up with that bull**** so moving on. I actually love the idea but I'm sure YAB Dato' Seri Najib knows that it wasn't easy. To reunite all the races who comes from different racial and cultural background will take years to happen but it does not mean that it won't happen, it just depends on how time and its people decides on it. So my vision of 1 Malaysia in 5 years? Well maybe it will be much brighter and appreciative not to mention we will be prosper but then again things can change drastically so I don't know. 
 

·         What do you think about the various races in this country? Do you think about your race or country first? Why? Do you think there is a tension between the various races in this country or not?

Well my racial background itself is a mixture of chinese,indian and malay so does that mean I should think about the country first? Somehow its a mixture of things that I get so confused with. But thats not what we're discussing about. What do I think about the various races in this country? Well first off Malaysia was created with various races itself. So Malaysia IS various races. And yes, I think about my country first since I'm a mix, no race actually click me perfectly. Every country has a racial tension. Its only human for it to happen.

·         How do you think people from all over the world see Malaysia? Do you think there is a typical “Malaysian” stereotype? How would you want people to view “Malaysians” in the future?

            Its difficult to answer that question cause not many knows about Malaysia. Though I could say that they find Malaysian rather friendly and polite. I guess its a good thing for Malaysia's business then. a typical 'Malaysian' stereotype? Err... not that I know of... In the future, I want people to view us as a country who had grown and built out of hard work and dedication that we put ourselves thru for Malaysia.

Pictures? My phone's dead and my sister's cam is currently with someone else.. but my fave outfit is a floral dress  from COTTON ON and a military jacket from FOREVER 21

My one and only Walkman phone that I refuse to sell or exchange it with a new phone no matter how battered it is. It kinda has a story... I lost my old sony ericsson K*** at school and I got in a fight with a few of my friends and one mentioned that I kept changing phones... therefore I had decided not to change it with a new phone also it has my funniest moments with my bff :)

Day 6: Social Networking

·         What communication medium (SMS, Instant Messenger, Phone, Twitter, Facebook), do you and your friends use the most to communicate through and why? What are the positives and negatives of each?

Owh wow... well I mostly communicate thru IM and Facebook. Its just way easier but kinda hard too since I dunno what time they are on >_> The positives is that we can communicate easily and faster but the sad part is that we wont know fo'sho who is on or off....

Eh... wow... so many questions... Okay first off, I dunno... well in Twitter is mostly bands so is myspace. close friends..? Hmm... err  not much and damn there's just so many I havent meet up before hehehe.

·         Do you prefer to meet people for the first time online or face-to-face? Why?

Well I don't do well at meeting people face to face cause I get really nervous so I rather meet online cause I can just type and my nerves will still be intact with me :P

·         Do you have Twitter? If yes, how many followers do you currently have? Who do you follow?

Im currently not on Twitter right now so I think around 40+ and they are mostly bands who follow me. You know to promote themselves LOL... And I normally follow celebs, my friends don't interact with Twitter

Day 5 : Going Online

· How many hours do you go online everyday? What do you usually do in the online world?

Umm… after school I would spend 3 hours then nap then wake up and play till 11-12 o’clock so not very long compare to my sister who sleeps in 5-6 am everyday XD

Well mostly, I would go to Quizilla,Facebook,Blogspot,Purevolume,Tumblr,Youtube,Lowyat.net,online shopping and well that’s pretty much it. I open blogspot so I can write my fiction stuff and read stuff on Quizilla. Hehehehe…

When you go online and interact with other users, do you use any nickname/alias profiles online? Tell us why you use it or don’t use it.

I do use them cause first off… I don’t like to completely expose myself online and I use them for protection. It will take awhile for me to tell people my real name. Well this is an exception ….

Have you become good friends with people you first met online? Tell us stories of how you make friends in the online world. How do you know whether to trust them or not?

Yes and sometimes I end up making best friends online :D Its not a question of naivety but it’s a question of how much I trust a stranger with my secrets. Why I do so? Because first off, they have never met me in real life and they don’t know the people that I talk about so I tell them with an open heart, I tell them the daily struggles and they give me advice along the way.

Well I first started off with Hi5’s chat room where I met my ex, who was at that time my only best friend. We talked together for a long time and understood each other. We began to accept our differences and listen and advice one another. As years gone by, we began to get attached and we met up. That’s how it goes.. hehehe

But for the innocence, I met most people my age in Emma Watson.org’s chat room and blackforests.com, a roleplay forum site for harry potter’s fans. We were all so close to each other and always gives out advice if one of us are in need of them. We then began to start co-operate with each other and trust each other. We are like a huge family that we’ve never met before obviously XD

· Tell us if your parents monitor what you access online? Is it effective, or do you know ways around the controls? What do your parents think about you going online all the time?

No, they don’t. They just find that I’m not doing anything harmful or dangerous online so they are fine with it though they all think that I got married with the internet cause Im attached to it :/

· Do you think the online world has made you to become more disconnected with your friends?

No above all rest, internet has helped me to be more connected with my friends cause sometimes I don’t have time to call or talk to them in school or meet up anywhere and internet has help me build new friendships.

Day 4 : Work and Money

     How important is money to you? Tell us what do you think about money.

Money in some ways is important to me. It’s the only thing that helps me in some places and a great motivation for me to do something though sometimes I find that money is very manipulative. In what I see in my daily life, we all foresee money as a way of living ,without it, we will be nothing and no one. I even realize that in some cases, money is the sole reason of love as well. Money to me is good but dangerous cause they are also our enemy, they can destroy a person’s life without we noticing it.

   

  Where do you get your money? Do you have a part-time job or do you receive an allowance from your parents, or both? Have you done any part time jobs before to earn your allowance?

Well as of now, yes, I receive them through my parents cause I’m still a student and part time job is out of question for someone who have to sit thru SPM still. Sometimes I have to work hard to earn money like clean my room or do a certain job but those rarely comes up.

         If you want to buy something, do you usually save up or will you get it straightaway compare?

Well in most cases, I will save up but if I do have a certain amount of money and I need the thing ASAP, then I will try to compare how much I need before buying it.

·         How important to your generation is having a strong work ethic and be hardworking in work?

Well since people have this whole racists thing going on about us, Malays, being bumi puteras have more benefit than most, I think we should instill the thought of working harder and have a strong work ethnics cause no matter what we do, we should realize that it does not matter about what your skin or language or culture is about. Its more about we should realize as a citizen of Malaysia, we have to work harder to be better and especially with my generation, we have so many things we need to accomplish that we should definitely work harder.

·         What do you think about the current economic climate? Did it affect you, your family and your outlook on the future?

Yes, it affects us rather badly. Can you imagine that from bungalows with swimming pools to a small terrace house with no land? Isn’t that enough to answer your first question? And yes, it did affect my outlook for the future because it raises so many questions on how to support myself when it comes down to where my parents will no longer support me. And since I still have to sit for SPM, I have so many things to reconsiderate  like I need a job during school so I have allowances for the month once I start college and not to mention, I might have to move out so everything revolves around money. With my parents just currently losing jobs and lack of money, I have so many things to think about. It was a huge loss and things are still in reconsideration.

·         What do you think are the three coolest jobs in the world and why? What are the three jobs least coolest job in the world, and why?

Celebrity Chef: Cause they get to travel around the world and still get paid

Event Manager: They get to travel and hang out with cool people and still get paid

Musicians/Actors/Performers: They get to do what they love the most and be adored by everyone and be other people’s idols.

Day 2: Family & Friends

Tell us about your family structure and members. Tell us stories about your time spent with family. Bring us to become part of your family! (you may include pictures)

I don't actually know how to describe them as my family although I can give you a brief on what my family is all about. We have 7 members and we are a huge mess. We tend to get what we want no  matter what it takes but unlike other families we brace our problems together and together we manage to learn to share through our misgivings. We also carry huge burdens and sometimes we prefer to tend them with others. Like me, my family are artistic people. We love to imagine the things most people won't even think about and we love to express about ourselves one way another. Some people mistaken my family as a very rich family but we aren't at all. Like others, we face with so many things in life. 

We tirelessly work hard to get what we want and for the better for the family. We have to prove ourselves and others that this is what we were born to do. Its tiring but along the way, we get to experience the great treasures of life. Some people have thought that we were insane on what we do but the things that we do is always for our own benefit as well as others. 

Its hard to see us together as a family as we are all are always so busy with our lives. Though when we do, there are always something that isn't right. You see we don't normally get along cause there's always someone who destroys the bit of happiness we share. Also even if you do see us together its either just us siblings with my older brother out of sight or us siblings with my dad or my dad with my mum. We rarely goes out together as a family, either to the movies, out for the weekend or anywhere else. We just don't get along that way. Some times, it made me sad and envious to watch other families get along. Because no matter what we do, our past will always follows us and it haunts us for any bit of happiness we wish to obtain from one another.


We are all have a ghost story though its something too long and I rather not share. I wish I can take you along the ride into my family's life but our life isn't something I wish you all to ponder. Though its always something we all want for the ride.

 

Tell us who are your best friends and why do you like to hang out with them and the activities you all frequently do together.  (you may include pictures)

My best friends and I doesn't spend that much time together anymore. Its weird, I know but sometimes I realize that it's on my own mistake. You know how most best friends stay through to your life through thick and thin well my best friends are all that though its been a year since I last saw them and I feel like they have drifted away from me. I am no longer apart of their life but just someone who was there and gone away. Though I can tell you what we used to do that made us stick to each other.

My best friends and I are just three girls who wants more in life. We want to be apart of something big though it wasn't easy on any of us. So we ask for simple things in life. Like other girls in my age, we go out shopping in the weekend especially the holidays. We would go to Sungai Wang and invest our money on japanese boy bands, movies and clothes. We go out to watch movies and have lunch together. But mostly, we just hang around at my best friend's place listening to music and watch movies.

When you are meeting new people how do you describe yourself?

    How do I describe myself when I'm meeting new people? hmm....err...hehehe well... how can I say this? hmm.... well its not that easy for me? Ok to cut it short as short as it can be. I get nervous. tongue tied and extremely clumsy. According to some people or most, they said that it takes me awhile to  get really friendly with other people and that I'm pretty much snobby.

Is identity important to you and your friends? How important is standing out / being different to you and your friends?

It all depends on which friends are talking about. Like me and my best friends, we kinda find that identity is really important to us. Its the way we are presenting ourselves to the world. 

Standing out is what I end up doing when I told myself that I want to blend in not make a statement. It always end up that way for me. Its not something that its important but being different is always better than being a regular person. And its always been that way for my family. We just end up being the person who stands out more than others no matter how hard we try to blend in.

Does religion affect your choice of friends? Explain your answer

Never. Religion has never affect on my choice of friends. I'm an open minded person. I hate to stay in one place when I can be in thousands of places. That's how I feel when I chose my friends. I will always remind myself that religion,race and cultures is what gives me more knowledge and open my mind about the world. I'm a very curious person. I always wonder why and how english began to develope and whether or not the mythical creatures really exists. So when I choose my friends religion does not count and never will be.

How do you and your friends like to categorize people of your age group . i.e EMO, Skater, JPop, KPop fanatic, Hip Hop, Goth, freak, geek, shutterbug, others? What are the three most popular groups/looks amongst you and your friends?

Well if you want my current friends... err... I don't know cause they hate the whole stereotype thing. If my best friends and my old friends, Jpop,Kpop,Fanatic,Geek,Freak,Emo and Punk.

7th Days

Which are your favorite TV shows and how do you watch them (TV, Youtube, download, friend, stream)?

One of my favorites from Disney is I'm In the Band.

 A korean reality show. Two Days One Night. Its really hilarious!

 My Favorite crime show is CSI:NY,CSI:Miami.

 Well sometimes if I can and when no one is using the TV, I will watch most of my fave shows on TV.

 Or sometimes its easier to go to youtube since I'm on the computer almost all day.

Do you like music and fashion? Where do you learn about new trends in music and fashion (from friends, celebrities, magazine)?

 Fashion and music is what I truly love. They clashes together and they give me confidence to do something new each time. Not to mention both are very fun things to do. We get to mix and match thru fashion and its the same thing with music.

are . They try to control their singers and performers. And at the same time

they destroy good music.

Christofer Drew Ingle has come a long way since he first posted his first song on his Myspace,

3 years ago. His second EP, Me and My Uke was fun and everyone

loved it. When his Yippe EP came out, Chris went on TRL to play his new single. Bigcitydreams. It was amazing and now his new album,What is love is doing great and has completely different

sound to it but its been 3 years and his songs are always amazing.

The first time I heard about the Maine was when one of my internet friends send me a link 

to their song, Into your arms. Since then The Maine has been one of my favorite bands around.

 MAYDAY PARADE

The first song that I listened from Mayday Parade is When I get home, You're so Dead. 

Slowly I began to listen and love black cat, If you wanted a song written for you,all you do is asked,miserable at best and Three Cheers For Five Years. Tho I've been searching for their CD since last year at almost all the local stores in the whole friggin KL and cant seem to find them even the sales assistants has no idea about the band. I already heard their new album, Anywhere But Here and I freaked out and kinda disappointed. When I heard the Jayson left the band, I knew that there's going to have major changes and it did. 

They turned into a normal alternative band which bores me. So I'm more of an old Mayday Parade fan the one with Jayson in it. Also I heard Jayson's new band, Go Radio and both bands are like missing puzzle pieces.

What/where do you find new information about entertainment that you like?

Well like all the above that I had listed down. Those are the places where I get my new information. The most I find easy is Youtube,Quizilla,Twitter and Facebook.

Me and Us

Sick,exams and so much more. Well so far this is what's going down in my week. It's stressful and I'm trying to be strong! We all have our own sacrifices right? Alright I'm pretty sure most of you have no clue who I am and I think greeting is in order! I'm Aisyah Burhan a proud Malaysian and I was born and raised in KL. I don't think I should write a long bio so let's skip to the questions!

What’s the best thing about being youth today? Do you think the future is bright, for your generation or do you think the future is something to worry about?

Well first and foremost, I find that youth today is very blessed with so many things and mainly we are blessed with the easy things in life. Like technology. If it weren't for technology, I think we all would be living in the stone age still and going to school won't be so easy. We also might not have a school to go to! 

Especially with kids my age, who love Nintendo DS, PSP, iPod, phones, TV, the computer! We will all suffer. A little bit of exaggeration but I'm here to tell the reality of things in the modern world. Not to mention I can't survive without my phone,the computer and music. Let alone the other people in the world! 

Well I'm not so certain that the future is bright. It all depends on the how the current issue is taking toll. The economy, the pollution, natural disasters. It's a lot to think about. And the adults aren't doing much about it, leaving the younger generation to suffer with the burden they set on us. So as of now, the future is something we all should worry about. Nothing is certain and things can change. 

   Do you think “youth” (people like you) are rebellious in nature? Do you think youth today rebel like they used to before? Explain. Do you/have you rebelled against anything or anyone in the past? Explain.

 

I think humans are rebellious in nature. We were born to either follow or lead. Most youths today are more into leading the pack than following others. Not to mention we are rebellious with our own family! We won't take no for an answer which is why this world is filled with rebels. Parents said no and they leave to go their own way. It's a normal issue now. Even sometimes the followers, follow to lead another pack. So yes, we are rebellious no matter what personalities we posses. 

Well I haven't live that long to give you an answer to that but from what I see and heard. Youth today is more rebellious and dangerous. We tend to do the most craziest things when we start rebelling. Though I can't really confirm that. And like everyone else we all rebel to get certain things in life to go our way. I have rebelled but in my own way and I'm the quiet type but I've always been the one to lead others. 

Do you think youth today have an easier or harder life than our parents’ generation? Please explain your answer

 Easier or harder?  I can't really decide. It depends on so many thing from back then and now. Let me ask my dad later though. 

         What is your biggest fear in the world…other than death?

I'm scared of a lot of things. It all starts with so many bad experiences as a child. But these are a few that I'm terrified of:

~Snakes
            There was this humongous snake came into my living room when I was 9 years old. It was so long that we had to call the zoo negara's keepers!

~Spiders
            I was bitten when I was 10 years old over 5 times in one year and one morning, I was yawning while walking to the car's door and beside the door was a long leaf and it looked attached to the door. I, being young and sleepy, I kept yawing until I swallowed a big sticky spider web. I was just lucky enough that the spider wasn't in the middle of the web or else I would have to go to the hospital rather than school that day. Though the whole trip to school, my throat was all scratchy and desperately in need of a water!

~Worms
           Same year ~_~ I was again a kid. I was playing by myself at the balcony with my teddies pretending that we're in a fairytale story. I was pretending to be a ballerina and it was like after the dance, I pretended that I was in the dressing room getting ready to perform my final act. So I slipped into my bathrobe and turn around to pick my teddy up when my finger brushed to my shoulder and I felt this hairy stuff sticking to it. Me, being extremely stupid, I touched it and  I couldn't identify it until I slipped off the robe and saw a freaking ulat bulu! I freaked and ran inside. >_<

Like I said bad experiences.Even though the question asked for one, I had to list it down :P do forgive me.

What makes you happy? 

Well I'm not easily pleased. It takes a lot to get me happy. Though I have to say that I get really happy when I accomplish something that I worked so hard on and when I saw how many people readers I have :)

What has been the most difficult hurdle you have overcome so far in your life? What did this experience teach you?

It was the time when I lost both my granddad and my fave cousin in a year and in between 2-3 months after my granddad's death. I was in depression for 2 years and I separate myself from my friends and my family. I didn't speak when it wasn't necessary and rarely laughed. It was rough for me cause they died when I was 10 and being a kid, I wanted people to be supportive but they didn't and left me to mourn on my own. Though now I realized that staying in the past can take so much life in you that I've learned to move on and fix everything even though I can never go back and change it. I can only learn from it not to mend everything that happened years ago. 

Which has more importance today in your life - family or friends? Why? In your experience, did you ever have to make a choice between your friends and family? If ‘yes’ please explain your answer and why did you do so?

Definitely my family. We have been through a lot together and they have always supported me. Also every time I come home from a bad day in school or from anywhere, my face will lit up and I find myself to be who I am and not having to pretend to be someone else. Family will always be my first priority above all else. I always have a reason to go home to. And no I have never have to choose friends over family. I'm not much of a social butterfly and friends can only help you so much but family will always be there for you no matter what happens. 

Tell us more about yourself!

  Well I'm a girl who was born and raised in KL. I've grown to love KL and its people. I'm pretty open minded about a lot of things and I love to write about the past and delete them after. I love mother nature and hope that starting next year I get to be apart of the eco-green volunteer. 

I will be 17 in July. I'm a big sucker for teddy bears! ( don't judge me :O ) I'm sitting for SPM in November and I'm hoping to study Culinary Arts in either Taylor or UiTM. I want to build my own italian restaurant so that muslim people won't have to worry about alcohol usage in their food :P

I incredibly love to paint (tho it gets pretty messy ^_^), draw, read some awesome inhuman books,hang out on my own at the shopping mall and write anything to express myself. So umm.. I forgot to mention that I'm a huge geek when it comes to harry potter and music. That's pretty much it. 


I hope that I don't scare people away with the answers and stuff :/ hehehe well that's it for today! I have to study for tomorrow's exam paper. Gotta love history *sarcasm* until then have a great day :)
